✨ Still feeling energized and inspired after attending last week’s #GlobalFashionSummit in Copenhagen, together with my Quantis colleague Sandra Gonza!   I had great conversations with brands and innovators on the role of circularity in fashion sustainability, as well as the challenges and opportunities to scale more sustainable innovations.   💡 𝐌𝐲 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 “𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥”: The Fashion industry has made progress, but doing “less bad” is simply not good enough for businesses to operate within planetary boundaries. It is time for companies to  1) set higher AMBITIONS , 2) strengthen and collaborate with INNOVATIONS, and  3) take ACTION. The Global Fashion Summit 2024, 🧜🏻♀️ Copenhagen Edition, concludes today. This flagship event for the fashion industry saw an unprecedented turnout of entrepreneurs, sustainability professionals, and students – a truly encouraging sign for the future of the sector, "Unlocking the next level" ! 💚 Among the hot topics this year, 🔍 traceability took center stage at the Innovation Forum. We're excited to have participated as 4sustainability, alongside our partners from The ID Factory, bringing our solutions and sharing the testimonies of over 3,000 supply chain companies we support in data collection for traceability and impact ✂️ reduction. In Copenhagen, we didn't just discuss sustainable processes and digital technology supporting the transition. We also showcased real products such as fabrics and 👞 shoes already capable of displaying traceability and impact data. We were proud to see our innovative solutions ready for market implementation, which aligns perfectly with the goal highlighted by Federica Marchionni in her inspiring opening speech: an explicit call to action to energetically contribute to the 🚀 revolution awaiting the fashion system in the coming years. Since the first Summit, 15 years ago, we've made significant strides in methodologies and tools. However, neither consumer 🛍️ purchasing behaviours nor the necessary investments for systemic change are sufficient yet. #GlobalFashionSummit 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸: the fashion industry is still one of the world's largest polluters, with a staggering environmental impact and a long way to go in terms of social justice. We know the statistics, we've heard the promises, and we've seen the trendy sustainability initiatives. Our colleagues from Enviu were at this year's Global Fashion Summit, "Unlocking the Next Level," which brought together leaders and innovators committed to sustainability. While progress over the years was evident, the need for scalable solutions and bold action was somehow missing. The time for planning is over; it's time for concrete change. A standout moment was the keynote speech by Paul Polman, a renowned business leader, climate advocate, and co-author of Net Positive. His words were particularly impactful: “Despite our efforts, humanity’s problems have increased—we are moving in the wrong direction. It is dangerous to lack ambition.” While this emphasises courageous leadership, it also reminds us of the critical urgency to intensify our efforts and push for greater ambition in our collective journey towards a sustainable future.
