Thrilled to share my key takeaways from an insightful workshop on consulting skills led by Yegneshwar Sivaraman! Dr. Sivaraman started the session by mentioning how in today's dynamic workplace, we're all consultants in our respective roles and then emphasized the crucial components for success in this domain: KSA - Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude. · Dr. Sivaraman highlighted the importance of considering all data and viewpoints to uncover the underlying causes behind a problem. Crafting a clear hypothesis or "Real Problem" is essential for effective problem-solving. · Encouraging the client to define the solution themselves fosters ownership and increases the effectiveness of the proposed solutions. Even when providing solutions, involving the client in the process enhances their engagement and buy-in. · Dr. Sivaraman emphasized the power of listening not to reply, but to understand. This shift in mindset enhances communication, fosters empathy, and strengthens client relationships. The workshop was enriched with engaging role-plays and real-life examples, making complex concepts accessible and actionable. Thank you, Dr. Sivaraman, for an enlightening and knowledgable session!
