Currently, the data centre offers 15MW of IT load, spanning 50,000 m² across 14 hectares in Grenoble (Eybens) and Lyon (Villefontaine). Moshin Ali, Assistant Auditor General, Fiji, speaks about how Pacific SAIs may see IT infrastructure adoption and using technology as a large investment and change, but notes the importance of taking small steps to get there and the gained efficiencies of digitalization. His SAI notes that they are trying to move away from reliance on a whole of government data center, but the cost of hosting their own data center is great, and may be a similar challenge faced by other SAIs in the Pacific. #PASAICongress2024 #pacificauditorsworkingtogether

From 30 September – 1 October 2024, the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2024), under the theme "Trust and Ethical Digital Governance for the World We Want" was held for the first time in Tswhane, South Africa. The DepHUB had a busy week at ICEGOV 2024: On 1st October the DepHUB and University of Johannesburg, co-chaired a workshop on "Data Governance and Local Interests". We had insights from Dr. Sandile Mbatha (Ph.D.), Bienvenu Comlan AGBOKPONTO SOGLO, Ph.D , Shamira Ahmed, and multi-stakeholder participants who actively engaged in the workshop. The roundtable has two primary objectives: Share global perspectives on frontier digital technologies, particularly AI’s impact on advancing digital inclusion, combating gender divides and supporting human-centered digital development.
