Can we talk about Jotaka Eaddy, Founder of #WinWithBlackWomen and the impact of starting your own business? I am inspired by the momentum I have been witnessing since last night and the impact of 44,000 Black Women jumping on a Zoom and raising over 1.5 Million for Kamala Harris' campaign. But I am most impressed by the impact of using your talents, skills, and natural GIFTS to impact the world. Go Jotaka! Start those side hustles!!!

Such an inspirational organization.
This year has been filled with remarkable moments and accomplishments for Dress for Success! Reflecting on our achievements, none of this would have been possible without the support of our esteemed sponsors and partners, as well as our amazing volunteers around the world. Their contributions represent kindness, connection, and a shared vision for a brighter, more equitable future. Thank you for being an integral part of our community, helping thousands of women in their paths to economic self-independence each year, and for making 2024 a remarkable year. Together, we can accomplish even more in the year ahead!

Thank you Meredith C. Moore for inviting us to this year’s luncheon & for literally bringing us to the table to support the The Atlanta Women's Foundation & the much needed services they provide to women and girls in Atlanta. Since 1998, they have invested over $27 million in Atlanta across Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties. Incredible turnout of around 1,700 people and congratulations on raising around $300,000 in 10 mins. Here are some statistics that were shared that highlight the importance of this work: 1️⃣Less than 2% of total US charitable giving goes to organizations serving women and girls. 2️⃣Women and girls are twice as likely to experience mental health issues, a number that only increases for those living in poverty. 3️⃣The percentage of high school girls who have seriously considered attempting suicide rose from 24.1% to 30% in recent years. 4️⃣17% of women 18 years and older live in poverty. 5️⃣Women make up nearly two-thirds of the 40 lowest-paying jobs. 6️⃣The largest demographic living in poverty are women ages 25 to 34, followed by those 18 to 24, and then 35 to 44. 7️⃣Nearly 80,000 girls live in poverty in Metro Atlanta. This is some of what the foundation has been able to achieve: 1️⃣12,000 women have gained access to employment opportunities. 2️⃣1,200 women have received childcare scholarships. 3️⃣Over 20,000 women have accessed critical mental health services. Thanks to the generous support of our community, Boss Women Matter (BWM) Round Table Talks have become a vital resource for Black women founders in Chicagoland. These open dialogues are a lifeline for Black women founders and serve as a cornerstone for community building, policy advocacy, and capacity building. While substantial progress has been made, the journey to economic equality for Black women founders remains challenging. Despite persistent systemic funding disparities to underrepresentation, our expanding community of founders is steadfast in their commitment to overcoming these barriers and creating a more equitable economic landscape. Never before has our work been more critical. By dismantling these obstacles, we not only empower individuals but also uplift entire communities. Each Black woman founder supported is a beacon of hope, illuminating a brighter future for us all. So today we invite you to make an impact with a powerful statement of support. Your contribution will not only help us expand our Round Table Talks, but provide mentorship, and advocate for policies. Together, we can empower the next generation of Black women entrepreneurial leaders. Will you join us in creating a brighter future? While others may be running FROM white women, I'm running TO them... Over 500 New Members Have Joined the RAARE Woman Collective in the past two weeks. As they come, we ask them the following question: WHAT HAS RACISM STOLEN FROM YOU? Usual responses to that question include: ✔️ My relationship with my father ✔️ My grandmother's love ✔️ A full and accurate education ✔️ An unencumbered understanding of how other people truly live ✔️ Confidence that my bi-racial grandchildren will be safe ✔️ An ability for black people to see me as something other than an enemy ...and, of late most have said, ✔️ This election. Our belief is that in order to give white women the confidence to fully stand in their Power, Position and Proximity as advocates for racial equity in their homes and communities, they first must first shift from “ally” to “leader” in this space, realizing that none of us is unscathed by the venomous sting of racism; it has stolen from all of us and will continue to do so unless we take away the oxygen it breathes. The RAARE Woman Collective, is an unpresented experience for women to align in the establishment of the world we want to inevitably see. RAARE is a racial equity program suite designed by black women for white women. It's an unprecedented opportunity to leverage the unique Power, Proximity, and Position many white women of influence hold; and marry these with a strong Partnership with black women “coaches” to activate and catalyze Radical Action Advancing Racial Equity (RAARE). We all need and want a world where racism can’t live but, our current path, factions, and anchoring to unhelpful emotions and beliefs about one another, are all in the way. RAARE's Reach: 🎯 Facebook Followers 1.5K (we added 559 more followers after the election) 🎯 Tiktok Followers: 120,000 🎯 Members enrolled in various of our programs: 520 🎯 Attendees at our LIVE events: 200+ 🎯 Countries Represented: USA, UK-London, Australia These women are hungry for a community to continue learning from, that is infectiously optimistic, set-apart from the norm, and effectual in building their skills to parent, lead, love, and influence others, THROUGH the lens of racial equity. RAARE is the only vehicle that provides all of these. Women supporting women. That’s how we grow stronger. Let’s lead with grace, take action, and stay RAARE. Social media…in person? Networking in person has something that online networking doesn’t: warmth and the ability to perceive the humanity behind the businesswoman (or man). That being said, utilizing social media for networking is equally valuable and allows you to expand your reach. Do both and do them both better. #womensupportingwomen #womenownedbusinesss

This is such a powerful reminder! As we reflect on the 16 Days of Activism, it’s clear that #GBV transcends generations and affects entire communities. It’s not just a women’s issue—it’s everyone’s fight. Men and boys play a critical role in this journey by challenging harmful norms, promoting equality, and standing as allies alongside women. Ending GBV requires all of us—young and old, men and women—to work together with a shared commitment to build a safer, more equitable future. Let’s continue the momentum beyond these 16 days and make this a lifelong mission for change.
As we come to the close of the 16 days of activism that has been going on through the end of November until the 10th of December: I am painfully reminded as I walked alongside grassroots women as old as my grandmother and as young as my nieces that #GBV is not just a one generation’s problem! It’s a fight for all of us⚠️

From Ally to Leader. Nikki said it best: racism has stolen from all of us. At RAARE, we’re committed to helping white women move beyond allyship into leadership—leveraging their Power, Position, and Proximity to dismantle racism in their homes, workplaces, and communities. As the Director of RAARE, I’ve seen how transformative this work can be. With over 500 new members joining us in just two weeks, it’s clear that women are ready to have the conversations that matter and take the actions that count. This Tuesday, we’re hosting a BREO Peer-to-Peer Meeting—a safe, empowering space to connect, reflect, and lead before the holidays. And if you’re looking for practical tools, the RAARE Racial Conversation Cards are the perfect way to start equity-centered conversations at your table or beyond. We’re building a world where racism can’t live, one step at a time. Join us. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eJV2A62b #RAAREWomanCollective #LeadWithGrace #RacialEquity
