You’ve probably noticed them: bags of silk high up in pine trees or long processions of furry, bright-coloured caterpillars on the ground. The caterpillars of the pine processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) are noticeable and problematic: they damage pine trees by foraging on pine needles and their stinging hairs can easily come into contact with humans and pets, leading to varying degrees of toxic reactions.
M2i’s Pine T Pro Ball is an easy-to-use, preventive and species-specific solution that helps avoid a buildup of the pest population. The main sex pheromone of the insect is replicated and applied high up in pine trees using a paintball-type launcher. By doing so, adult moths struggle to find each other, reducing reproductive success and thereby preventing the pest from becoming problematic. Smart right?
M2I Life Sciences is at the forefront of the development and manufacture of innovative pheromone-based products for sustainable management of insect pests. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re interested in our activities!
I recently had the pleasure of participating in the enriching webinar organized by NooS on nature, biodiversity, and their relevance for businesses, alongside the fantastic Emilie Priou and Nicolas Bouché. We delved into the pressing global trends and the alarming decline in nature, explored the underlying drivers and the global regulatory landscape, and shared practical examples from companies. Drawing from my experience at Brambles and our journey in adopting TNFD’s recommendations, I shared insights into how organizations can start addressing these critical challenges, including the importance of adopting circular economy's principles.
What emerged strongly across the conversation is how vital it is for businesses to take an active role in preserving and regenerating our natural world. By fostering biodiversity, companies not only contribute positively to Nature and societies, but also unlock new business opportunities to drive sustainable growth and resilience. It was clear that, given their interconectedness, leveraging the momentum built around climate and their climate strategies is going to be key to integrate nature as a cornerstone of regeneration.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special shoutout to Victoria D. and Inès Decoster for organising this important conversation and inviting me to share my insights ! I look forward to continuing working on this topic for Brambles to make it central to our mission to create regenerative supply chains.

🌍🐝 In honor of Biodiversity Week, which includes World Bee Day on May 20th and the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22nd, we are thrilled to highlight an impactful project we’ve been involved in. This high-impact initiative focuses on developing a sustainable beekeeping sector in #Morocco, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of bee preservation.
🌿 Planet for People: Fondation ENGIE and Fondation GoodPlanet are championing biodiversity in Morocco by establishing 10 beekeeping cooperatives in the Mesguina forest. This initiative helps beekeepers enhance their activities sustainably and profitably, reinforcing the ENGIE Group's commitment to biodiversity and climate protection.
🌸🌿🌍🐝 Here are some of the project's significant impacts:
✔️ Supporting 95 beekeepers across 10 cooperatives
✔️ Equipping 4 cooperative honey houses with essential tools for honey extraction, maturation, and bottling
✔️ Training 40 beekeepers in modern techniques, bee race conservation, health standards, and quality control
✔️ Educating 100 students from 9 rural schools on bee preservation
✔️ Facilitating collaboration among 30 farmers and beekeepers to prevent bee mortality due to pesticides

Time to share something fun. We've rebranded!
For the other English speakers out there, our new name, Versant (Abundant Earth), better reflects our mission with respect to our product.
We find land for companies to restore in order to compensate for their impacts on the environment. When finding such land to restore, you need to look closely, within the same watershed, and this is the root of our name. In French, watershed is "bassin versant".
Our solution can identify sites with good restoration potential for specific species or wetland compensation projects, mandated by European regulation. Through this, we are mitigating the impactful effects of building new projects, such as renewable energy developments.

This video reminded me of a fascinating story I once heard from a dear friend. He died from cancer and this story remind me about the many meaningful discussion we got.
About two decades ago, he shared his involvement in a groundbreaking project initiated by the Omani royal family to establish a sustainable and affordable source of seafood, particularly shrimp, for Oman’s population.
The waters off Oman are home to a unique marine ecosystem, shaped by a deep oceanic trench that runs along the coast. This trench creates diverse habitats, with the size and species of shrimp varying significantly with depth—every 50 meters, one could encounter a different ecological niche, many different sizes and type of "shrimps". It’s a haven for biodiversity, particularly for shrimp species.
Over 20 years ago, my friend joined a multidisciplinary scientific expedition to study this ecosystem in detail. For six months, the team operated from a research vessel, bringing together experts from various fields—marine biology, ecology, fisheries science, and logistics—all united by a mission to develop a sustainable shrimp supply chain.
Their work was meticulous. The crew conducted systematic sampling at different depths, recording shrimp species and sizes at each location. Every discovery was documented in three languages: Latin for scientific classification, Arabic for cultural and national purposes, and English to facilitate communication among the international team.
Through this detailed study, they devised a sustainable fishing strategy that balanced harvesting with ecosystem preservation. They also innovated methods to freeze and pack shrimp aboard the vessel, ensuring the catch reached Oman’s markets in optimal condition, ready for distribution even to remote desert communities.
The project had the potential to revolutionize Oman’s food supply chain, making seafood more accessible, affordable, and nutritious for populations with limited dietary variety. It promised to introduce essential vitamins and proteins into diets that traditionally lacked such resources.
However, just months after the completion of the study, a lucrative contract was negotiated with a Korean company. The foreign fishing fleets were granted unrestricted access to the trench for six months. Their industrial-scale operations exploited the ecosystem at an unsustainable rate, harvesting shrimp indiscriminately across all depth zones.
Post-operation assessments revealed the devastating impact: the ecosystem was so overexploited that full recovery was estimated to take 20–30 years. Although the marine environment has the resilience to regenerate over time, the damage disrupted the initial vision of a sustainable food system for Oman. The Korean ships left with their short-term profits, but the long-term potential of the trench to support Oman's population was severely compromised.

Et tout ça pour du Surimi. 🤢
Voici un scandale qui se passe en douce et qui est mis en lumière grâce à Claire Nouvian et ses équipes de BLOOM Association .
Prenez le temps de bien regarder cette vidéo. Tout est dit et expliqué très clairement. 😉
Vous allez me dire mais que faire ? 😵💫

in the face of climate change, increasing water retention is becoming a matter of survival for farming. The farm unions promote hugely expensive (for taxpayers) artificial basins whose main purpose is to allow politically connected farmers to hoard water at the expense of the majority of farmers (pumping ground water into giant plastic swimming pools).
But there's another way. Cheaper, fairer and better. Beavers harvest water and allow it to recharge aquifers or be slowly released into rivers. Construction and maintenance ensured at their expense. Combined with agroecological farming practices, it offers a real fighting chance for our farming. But of course the benefits would be shared by everyone and there would be little scope for corruption, political capture and social control.
