November 29th was a groundbreaking – no pun intended – day, as ENGIE South Africa’s Head Office and Sites across the country laced up their running shoes for the TIMU MOJA fun run. The event inspired by the Swahili phrase meaning “One Team” is more than just a fitness event, it’s about connection! Bringing together our employees, stakeholders, and local communities to celebrate our shared spirit of “Ubuntu”.   This year’s event offered something for everyone, with both 5KM and 10KM routes, including some breathtaking scenic runs through our iconic Wind Farm locations. From cityscapes to awe-inspiring landmarks, each site added its unique flair to the day!   And what better way to end the day than with a good old South African braai? We attended the MEDays Forum, a pivotal platform for dialogue on the strategic challenges facing the Global South, with a particular emphasis on energy and economic transformation. Under the theme « Sovereignties and Resiliencies: Towards a New Global Balance », the event brought together leading players from across the continent to explore actionable solutions to the pressing changes shaping our world, particularly in the energy sector. In his address, Loïc Jaegert-Huber, Director of ENGIE North Africa, underscored the critical role of renewable energy in driving sustainable growth in emerging economies. Our Excelsior Wind Energy facility recently had the pleasure of handing over two new Grade R classrooms to VRT Pitt Primary School, effectively doubling its capacity and improving the learning environment for children starting their primary school journey. ☀️Graspan Solar PV Power Plant Update ☀️   In October, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the Graspan PV Plant, a renewable energy project which is set to meet the electricity needs of approximately 80 000 South African households.
