Don't help your customers and prospects negotiate against you! Set the narrative on your Order Form to get the deal done faster and minimize negotiation. When buying software, I commonly see Order Forms that don't reflect the conversation I had with the Sales Rep. For example, I was talking about a total price with the Sales Rep and then I get an order form breaking up pricing among products and a price on support. So, what do I do? I ask the Sales Rep to remove the feature I never wanted in the first place, remove support, and lower the overall price. This leads to another round of negotiation and lower Contract value. What could have been done differently? The Order Form should have been treated just like any Sales and Marketing document. Present the data on Order Forms in a way that puts your best forward and gets in front of any negotiation. Do your Order Forms match how you talk about your product in your other Sales and Marketing collateral? Getting an RFQ and turning it into an order? It’s 5% tactics and 95% strategy. But the real challenge is getting to the point where the client asks you for a quote. And no, it’s not just about lead generation—it’s about qualifying yourself as a trusted supplier in the client’s eyes. If no one asks you for RFQs, you’ll never close deals, right? When we talk about quoting, the focus is often on pricing and product features. But how much attention do you pay to trust in your brand and communication? If you’re struggling to get RFQs, focus on these three key areas: 1. Build a Recognizable and Trustworthy Brand ✅ Consistency: Keep your message clear and consistent across all platforms. ✅ Reputation: Showcase testimonials, reviews, and case studies from your successes. ✅ Visibility: Stay active on social media and attend industry events. 2. Communicate Your Value Effectively ✅ Clarity: Clearly articulate your unique value proposition. ✅ Benefits: Focus on how your solution addresses the client’s specific pain points. ✅ Proof: Use data, success stories, or ROI to back up your claims. 3. Offer a Simple and Responsive Sales Process ✅ Speed: Respond quickly to requests and follow-ups. ✅ Simplicity: Make the quoting process as intuitive as possible. ✅ Support: Provide high-quality assistance at every step of the process. Winning against competitors isn’t about luck—it’s about strategy. 💡 The difference is in the details: make trust and communication your strongest weapons. ❓ Which of these areas do you think needs the most improvement in your business? Let’s discuss it in the comments!

ITF Sales Playbook - Day 4 Sales execution is crucial in winning a deal. To sell better than your competitors, you need to focus on how you sell, not just what you sell. A salesperson's skills can make all the difference in who wins the deal. It's important to understand what sales isn't: Cajoling or tricking a buyer, pitching like a talking brochure, selling unnecessary products, or pressuring buyers at the quarter's end. Professional selling means helping a customer solve a significant problem in a way that benefits both parties. To sell well, you must understand the sales process, strategy, buyer's journey, and funnel metrics.
