When you take part in our end of year festive ecard fundraiser you help CCRC unwrap the potential of children in our community. How? The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) in North Carolina advocates for child care. Our advocacy efforts typically focus on improving access to high-quality, affordable child care for families and supporting the early childhood education workforce. This involves: 📍 Policy Advocacy: Promoting policies at the local, state, and federal levels that increase funding, improve child care quality, and address workforce challenges like low wages and high turnover. 📍 Community Engagement: Raising awareness among families, businesses, and community members about the importance of early childhood education and child care services. 📍 Collaborations: Working with other organizations, coalitions, and stakeholders to build collective support for improvements in the child care system. 📍 Information Sharing: Providing data and insights to policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to highlight the critical role of child care in economic development, family stability, and child development. More than one third of older Australians live in rural and remote locations, yet when they need to access an aged care home, it often means being separated from their communities and loved ones. Regional providers like not-for-profit Whiddon know it takes more than goodwill to keep operating in regional areas, and more support is needed to keep families together. “One key strategy to better care for our regional communities is a multi-pronged approach between state and federal governments, working cooperatively with providers towards a collective goal,” writes Whiddon CEO Chris Mamarelis in Aged Care Today. A new initiative in Indianapolis is working to address health and socioeconomic disparities in five historic neighborhoods near Indiana University Health's new downtown hospital. I love how thought-provoking the title is. It is both captivating and layered with meaning.
