𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 #𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 #𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: Carelane, a life sciences technology start-up, has announced the successful closure of its pre-seed funding round, raising €800,000. The investment, led by HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), will fuel the expansion of its unified platform designed to streamline clinical trials, significantly reducing the operational burdens faced by pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, and academic researchers. Clinical trials today face inefficiencies and high costs because they are reliant on multiple disjointed software systems for essential tasks such as data management, eConsent, tokenization, sample tracking, drug supply, and patient follow-up. The time required for integration and the challenges of process orchestration, along with regulatory compliance demands for unified audit trails, further complicate the situation. Hi Network! Even though, surprisingly, (even after the COVID-19 pandemic), the DCT approach in clinical trials is not as popular as expected, I personally consider this topic interesting to explore and thus thought that maybe some of you would be interested in reading one more study about the current state of decentralized clinical trials. The study below gives reasons why some organizations implement DCT and what about others that don’t. The study is based on the survey results better to understand the current state of DCT adoption and implementation. The three crucial factors were examined: organization size, technology adoption, and patient involvement. The most interesting results are as follows, first I quote: “There is a significant relationship (p ≈ 0.0475) between the size of an organization and its implementation of DCTs. Larger organizations are more likely to have adopted DCTs..” This is closely connected with the availability of resources and needed infrastructure for efficient implementation. The survey also highlights that technology vendors and CROs have more belief in technology as a critical factor for DCT success than biopharmaceutical companies. The study also evaluates approaches for trials the organizations use and the role of DCT. While DCT adoption is not widespread due to clear reasons, I think the right balance between technology and the specifics of a particular organization can ensure DCT adoption for fast, efficient and diverse trials. For instance, leveraging scalable cloud-based platforms can enable small and mid-sized companies to manage and conduct DCT without significant upfront investment in infrastructure. Advanced data analytics and AI can streamline patient recruitment, monitoring, and data analysis, making the trial process more efficient and cost-effective. 💬 What are your thoughts on the survey results indicating a significant relationship between organization size and DCT implementation? https://lnkd.in/dSXDrf7n #clinicaltrials #DCT
