Mosaic Play Academy’s Post

Magical things happen when teachers are given the creative freedom. There are specific educational goals and outcomes in every curriculum, but when the learning is brought outdoors, many times the teachers are encouraged to adapt, be flexible and spontaneous. When the children are emotionally present and engaged in an activity, for example when children are discovering new 'recipes' on their own at the mud kitchen, or when a child stops to look at his shadow, the teachers adapt and shift the learning based on what they observe with the children. The curriculum shifts as the teachers begin to fuel the children's curiosity by asking questions, guiding and even expanding/ adding on to their ideas. This form of outdoor experiential learning is embraced at Mosaic Play Academy across its core programmes (playgroups & after-school)... and perhaps this is why the teachers always have as much fun as the children in the classes because teaching and learning are intertwined and become so much more enjoyable and effective for both parties! #outdoorlearning #earlychildhood #playgroup #outdoorfun #experientiallearning #children #learningthroughplay #teaching #teacher
