Presenting <Together for Tomorrow> - a music video, created by the MPA team, led by Teacher Benedicta. Kudos to the team who embarked on this project together, dedicated their time and effort to write the lyrics, recorded the song, and involved the students in various ways to bring this project to life. Throughout the year, the teachers at MPA have made a conscientious effort to teach children about #sustainability. Through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences, we aim to help them grow into environmentally responsible individuals. We remain committed to fostering this understanding in the coming year by continuing to nurture an appreciation and respect for nature through our playgroup and after-school programmes. With <Together for Tomorrow>, we hope to share our love for Mother Earth through music and inspire those around us to join this cause. Please enjoy and help share this song with your friends and families! . . . #mosaicplayacademy #playinspiredlearning #joochiatplace #theyards #sustainability #protecttheearth #studentcare #afterschoolcare #playgroupprogramme #playgroup #nea #nparks Benedicta Njo Cheryl Ong Jenny Kelly Melissa Tan Thesiga Sinniah Mosaic Global Pte Ltd

It is the sparkle in their eyes when they are out having fun in free play. The freedom of running across a grassy field or crawling on the ground to find the little bug that is perched on a leaf during #outdoorplay. It is the smiles on their faces when they jump and sing along in music and movement/ music jam, and the squeals of delight when discover new sounds and words in phonics/creative writing. It is the little giggles they make when they are engaging in casual yet meaningful conversations with their peers and teachers over snack breaks. It is the wide open curious eyes as they express wonder and awe during class time when they explore and make little discoveries on their own in curious discoveries/ maths&science club. It is the squeals of delight of just pure joy from the thrills of adventurous play during Out & About, when they are given the freedom and indepedence to explore their own capabilties - to jump through hoops and take risks during Sports. It is the kindness and the friendships they make as they walk hand in hand down the corridor to their classrooms. It is them, our children, who motivate us to support, teach, guide, lead, inspire and provide more opportunities for children to have a balanced education, and learn through play through a myraid of ways, which is fundamental to full and healthy childhood. We have loved every moment of being with your children at #playgroup, enrichment and #afterschool programme. Thank you for your support, and being a part of the #Mosaic family. See you in 2025! . . . #studentcare #afterschool #playgroup #enrichment #teamwork #mpateam #school #yearinreview

It started with an introduction of the #InvisiblePeople in our community by Ames Chen earlier last week, and what it did was inspire the children to want to help create a world that shows love to all those around them, and then have the courage to act on what they see. And they did just that. They spent time with seniors, prepared food and gave care packages for #migrantworkers, did a neighbourhood clean-up, and learnt more from #conversationists who continuously strive to protect the environment and animals from extinction. “The purpose of life is not to be happy, but to matter– to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.” – Leo Rosten May the children continue to show #kindness, help those in need and bring cheer to those around them in their own ways. A big thank you to all the organisations 1. Joo Chiat Social Club 2. Krsna's Kitchen 3. Singapore Wildlife Action Group that supported and gave the children such wonderful insights into what they do daily. To all of them - You deserve so much more recogniton and your commitment to care for the community is certainly an inspiration to all the children. And to the Mosaic team - Thank you, as always, for making this camp happen for the children. . . . #mosaicplayacademy #letsplayatmpa #communityservice #volunteering #kidsgiveback #primaryschool #primaryone #studentcare #afterschool #holidaycamp #enrichment ##schoolholiday #empathy #compassion

This holiday, we wanted to create a purposeful reciprocal learning and #wellbeing holiday programme for our children. We also wanted to educate our children on important real-world issues – while imparting values of compassion and service. That was how the theme KIDS GIVE BACK was created. As we worked on the programme, we wanted to include an #intergenerational component. Why? Because whilst children learn to develop empathy and gratitude, we also want to show them that a simple act can play a part in improving the mood and wellbeing of senior adults by reducing their loneliness and isolation. Our heartfelt thanks to Mariel and Ben, founders of @joochiatsocialclub for allowing our children at MPA to spend time with the seniors in their home. The children sang songs, did craft, played games and engaged in conversations with the seniors. It was a wonderful morning spent together. We hope that this will be a start to a wonderful relationship- where #communityservice can be a regular part of the after-school programme so that deeper bonds can be forged between our children and the seniors. There is so much to benefit and learn from one another through these meaningful interactions! . . . #mosaicplayacademy #theyards #joochiatplace #joochiat #holidayprogramme #holidayworkshop #afterschool #studentcare #primaryschool #primaryone #communityservice #volunteering #playinspiredlearning #letsplayatmpa #empathy #compassion #kidsgiveback

Many activities blur that line between fun and hard - A lot of hard things aren’t exactly fun but are soul-satisfyingly rewarding. Running is one of them. In the spirit of nurturing grit in our children, we encouraged the children attending our after-school programme to take part in the 800m POSB kids race. The teachers ran a 10km race previously and now it was their turn to show up and run their own race. To train up, sports sessions on Fridays with Teacher Shaufiq were dedicated to doing short runs. And like most runners, during the practices, the children would start at an all-out sprint. A couple of metres in, they would be red-faced and walking, some moaning and complaining about the heat, lack of shade, and even the non existent flies that were attacking them. But over a couple of practices, after a few spurts and stops, kids learnt to clip along at a steady pace. We saw them gradually developing a little more patience and diligence. And we didn't just stop there. Back at after-school, we focused on translating this patience into enhanced ability to plan out projects and make more thoughtful decisions during homework club and other enrichment programmes. It is a generous and glorious fact of life that whatever you practice, you will get better at it. Kids learn that the more they run, the better they will get at running. What is true for running, will likely be true for other areas of life as well. We do not need our children to be track stars or cross-country athletes, but we want them to have resilience, to be challenged, willing to get outdoors, have the ability to run and reap the intrinsic benefits from running. Let's continue to make running (& active play) a pure joy and a necessity for all kids! . . . #mosaicplayacademy #afterschool #studentcare #enrichment #kids #school #fitness #running #grit #perseverance #mpateam

MPA is excited to partner up with Joo Chiat Social Club to bring generations together through play and conversations! Through this initiative, we want to encourage our children from our after school programme to be more involved in community service. Tis the season to be spending the holidays having more time to go online, and receiving (& exploring) new technology. Amidst all the magic, children need to learn how to do that safely, to keep the holly jolly in this holiday season and cyber dangers out. That is why we are spending time with our children in Mosaic's after-school programme, teaching them how to be less vulnerable and more cyber-ready to have a happier and safer time! #enrichment #onlinesafety #Internetsafety

We understand the positive impact we as teachers can have on children, and how we are able to change the trajectory of children's school experience. That is why we invest so much in relationships, and take time to forge bonds with our children at MPA. And that is also why letting go of our children when they leave playgroup are always bittersweet days for us.

The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a skill; The willingness to learn is a choice.” ~ Brian Herbert Jenny Kelly Benedicta Njo Cheryl Ong Thesiga Sinniah
I don't want to brag... but the team of teachers at Mosaic Play Academy really displays some amazing photography skills. With no background in photography, they are all able to ever so often, capture the moments, emotions and stories that take place. But this skill, one that goes beyond pointing and clicking the camera (although they do make it look like its as easy as that), has to be honed. I remember we started out as one or two teachers being in charge, but as time went by, one by one started contributing to the album on a daily basis. Now, photo taking has become a shared responsibility by every member in the team, and on many occasions, I would just gawk at how beautiful some moments were captured and ask in jest if it was pure skill or the camera. How did they come to this stage? I reckon it stems from the #willingnesstolearn. They observed how the 'leads' were doing it, studied the photos, took note of how photos can be taken from unique and unexpected angles at times to make them more memorable, experimented and gradually gained the confidence to take and submit their photos. And this whole process was done without prompting or instruction. It just happened on its own. This is what I admire about the team at MPA - from acquiring the knowledge to post on social media to honing #photography skills, these teachers have each shown an admirable will to learn, even if these are skill sets that go beyond and/or unrelated to their teaching practice. Classroom photography - a new programme by MPA, perhaps?

Instilling the love of reading in children, week by week... Teacher Jenny Kelly first developed and introduced the Little Book Club at Mosaic Preschool in 2022. By the end of each year, children in her classes would have journeyed through enchanted forests, discovered magical kingdoms, and gone on adventures to deserted islands and beyond, all through the magical world of books. Teacher Jenny shares more... "Little Book Club, where young readers embark on exciting literary adventures! Each term, we shine a spotlight on a beloved author—be it the timeless tales of A.A. Milne, the whimsical worlds of Julia Donaldson, or the playful illustrations of Eric Carle. Through engaging reading sessions, we dive into their captivating stories, learning not just about the plots but also about the authors' fascinating lives. Our lessons are a delightful mix of reading and writing activities that spark imagination—think character comparisons, rewriting endings, and so much more! But it’s not all about books; we turn stories into action with games, lively discussions, and dramatic scene reenactments. Kids become the characters they adore, drawing, crafting, and exploring their creativity. My heart has always been captivated by the magic of children's literature, and it’s a passion I’m eager to share with the young minds I teach. My goal is to help them cultivate a lifelong love for books and literature, opening doors to imagination, adventure, and endless possibilities and I hope that our Little Book Club can do that." ~Teacher Jenny Playgroup & Enrichment teacher Mosaic Play Academy . . . #earlychildhood #preschooleducation #teacher #childcare #preschool #enrichment #reading
