The numbers are in! We have received 3,300 outstanding submissions for this year's Zurich Innovation Championship! 🚀   As I write this, our local and regional teams are already busy reviewing all the applications for our global startup program. The 'Super Days' are just around the corner, where multiple startups will present their ground-breaking ideas for the future of insurance. 💥   All four challenges – "Digital Simplification," "Life and Health," "Retail P&C," and "Commercial Insurance" – have attracted a fair share of suitable applications. This highlights the importance of these four areas for the future of our industry and beyond.   I’m looking forward to our 'Global Super Days', where standout local startups will pitch to our team of Group Executive Judges. 💬 They'll have the honor of selecting the winning initiatives. Italia TrueScreen - Trust as a Service secures a $2.4 million round #TrueScreen, an Italian startup specializing in the certification of multimedia content acquired via mobile devices, has closed a €2.4 million funding round. The round was led by the Cysero VC EuVECA fund, the only Italian fund focused on cyber, robotics, and AI, promoted by AVM Gestioni SGR in conjunction with Kilometro Rosso, the scientific and technological park of Bergamo. Founded by CEO Fabio Ugolini and co-founder Giuseppe Travasoni, TrueScreen has developed patented technology that certifies all multimedia content captured on mobile devices—such as screenshots, photos, videos, audio, GPS data, and screen recordings. This technology not only assigns legal and evidentiary value to the content but also prevents data manipulation and the creation of deepfakes using #AI. The funding will be used to enhance their proprietary technology, expand the functionalities of their SaaS product, develop new technological and commercial partnerships, and strengthen their sales and marketing team. The goal is to accelerate both national and international expansion, aiming to become the international standard for the acquisition and management of incontestable digital data. Other investors in the round include Mariano Spalletti, Managing Director of Qonto Italia; Alessandro Petazzi, co-founder of Musement; as well as strategic investors like smeup, Growth Engine, Fin+Tech Accelerator (part of CDP Venture Capital's National Network dedicated to Fintech and Insurtech), @Pathfinder, Encelado Ventures, and B-yond ventures. TrueScreen's solutions are particularly valuable in sectors such as insurance, banking, #fintech, real estate, logistics, journalism, and any area where the authenticity and immutability of data are crucial to prevent fraud, disputes, and misinformation.
