Low-cost Teambuilding Idea #4: “Make It” Holiday Party I wanted a little teambuilding one year to go along with a holiday celebration, so since we were a small group, I asked everyone to make holiday gifts for the team. I could see this caused some anxiety for some of my teammates because not everyone is into crafts. So I said it was perfectly fine to make a batch of muffins or cookies or anything else for that matter, and that seemed to put everyone at ease. When we finally met, we had some delicious muffins and cookie bars, and received some pine-scented skin balm in a holiday tin. For my contribution, I did a blast from my past and made an assortment of Shrinky Dink ornaments for everyone based on their interests. I had to explain to a few people what Shrinky Dinks actually were, which made me feel very old, but it was fun to share a little of my childhood. Then we all just ate and talked and enjoyed a slow start to our morning. We had a larger departmental holiday party that afternoon, but this smaller team holiday breakfast was very special to me.
