But those seem to be in the past for The Laurels, a new Mattamy Homes development planned for the west side of Regional Road 25, north of Britannia Road. Mattamy Homes is making a sustainability commitment through various initiatives to minimize its carbon footprint. These include optimizing the building envelope for energy efficiency and cost savings, using geothermal systems for heating and cooling to cut energy use, employing energy recovery ventilators for better air quality, and more. Tenblock to Transform Tower-in-the-Park into Vibrant Urban Community Designed by BDP Quadrangle, with planning by Urban Strategies Inc., and landscape design by SvN Architects + Planners the proposal introduces three new #residential buildings: two towers of 32 and 36 storeys fronting Bathurst Street, and an 8-storey mid-rise deeper within the site, complementing the existing rental building. Tridel Reworks Multi-Tower Proposal East of Scarborough Town Centre Tridel in partnership with Community Living #Toronto has submitted revised plans to the City of Toronto for a five-tower #residential development on Ellesmere Road east of McCowan in Scarborough. Designed by Kirkor Architects and Planners, the updated proposal reimagines the site with towers rising from 29 to 55 storeys. Situated within walking distance of #Scarborough Town Centre and its transit hub, with a new station currently under construction as part of the# Scarborough Subway Extension of Danforth Line 2. The revised proposal envisions five #residential towers across three blocks, ranging from 29 (101.15m) to 55 storeys (178.79m). The #development would deliver 2,328 #residential units, of which 2,046 would be #condos and 282 would be #rental units of which 85, or 30%, would be #affordable units. Revised Plans Submitted for Housing Now Site Near Wilson Station A multi-phase community at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard is progressing under the City of Toronto’s Housing Now initiative, aimed at delivering a mix of affordable and market-rate housing near transit hubs on City-owned lawn. Site Plan Approval applications have been submitted in March and September this year for portions of the 8-acre site to the east of Wilson station, part of the larger development led by CreateTO that will replace surface parking lots that used to fill up when Wilson was the last station on the line. Designed by Kirkor Architects and Planners, the project involves two distinct blocks — Block 1, developed by Tridel and Block 2, developed by Greenwin Corp. Notable changes from plans last submitted in 2021 include adjustments to the heights and uses of the buildings: Block 1’s tower has been reduced from 12 storeys to 10 storeys, while the trio of towers at Block 2 each increased from 16 to 17 storeys, while planned office space has been eliminated from Block 1 following the downturn in demand, post-pandemic.
