As the founder of Abuti Spinach, I am thrilled to see India's Odisha state taking a lead in pioneering sustainable agriculture farm reforms. The pioneering efforts of KV Singh Deo in promoting schemes that encourage Acquaculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy farming, and Horticulture are truly commendable and something we can draw inspiration from in Africa. But what does this mean for Africa's agricultural sector and how can we replicate such successes on our continent, can we adopt similar approaches to boost our agricultural production and make farming more attractive to the youth #abutispinach #Agvocate #AgroDiplomacy 🌾👨🌾💚

The latest news coming from Odisha highlights the struggles that farmers face when it comes to receiving aid after crop damage. A dearth of agriculture officers in the region has led to a delay in conducting crop loss surveys, leaving many farmers without the assistance they desperately need. As a result, farmers are forced to watch their waterlogged fields with no hope of saving their crops. What do you think can be done to address the shortage of agriculture officers and provide timely support to farmers in need? #abutispinach #Agvocate #AgroDiplomacy 🌾🌱💦

We are thrilled to share the latest updates from the #Urvarasa Model Farm in Pisarve (Saswad, Maharashtra). It’s truly rewarding to see the steady progress of our crops as we continue our experiments in the field. The results so far have been fascinating! The untilled land has worked entirely to our advantage, already containing the necessary nutrients for seed germination. As a result, we didn’t need to add any extra nutrients when preparing the land for sowing! We are confident that this project will have a transformative impact on farming in India. We’re eagerly looking forward to collecting data and observations from the farm, as well as conducting surveys in the surrounding community. This will help us develop solutions grounded in local realities, rather than simply reacting to global discussions on unsustainable and exploitative farming practices. India, with the world’s largest cattle population and only 2.4% of the planet’s landmass, faces unique challenges. This makes it even more crucial for us to tackle these issues head-on. Through the #Urvarasa initiative, we are committed to proving that a plant-based farming model can thrive, ensuring that farms remain productive and secure—even in the absence of livestock. https://lnkd.in/dZTw55SJ
