#Officialstatement We appreciate all the feedback we received regarding our Open Day Recruitment held at the IPAMS office in the morning of April 8, 2024 for Cabin Crew post. We normally conduct virtual screening as practice, but this could not be done at this time due to the urgency of the requirement. While our office is fully equipped and three floors are able to hold up to 550 applicants at a time, we did not expect the sheer volume of applicants who came to apply on this day with lines reaching all the way along Aurora Blvd. up to the corner of Balete Drive. We had marshalls who ensured an orderly queueing, and our officers-in-charge sped up the processes. Although our scheduled Open Day was from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, we started as early as 6:00 am to accommodate those who lined up early, we accomplished the application process for those who received queue stubs at 11:00 am, and we extended our screening all the way to the end of the business day. The minimum height requirement that we must adhere to is 160cm and arm reach of at least 212cm (on tiptoes), as this is the employer requirement. Every airline carrier has its own global standards, and while we wish we could have accommodated all applicants, many did not pass this first step of application as they, unfortunately, fell short of the minimum height and reach specification. We do appreciate all the feedback we received and we take them all to heart. We shall take the necessary steps to improve and ensure a smoother application process for succeeding Open Day recruitment events, taking into account the hot Manila climate, the health/safety and potential number of applicants. One of the top questions we observed in the comments section of our IG page were some queries over what exactly PHT is? In Aviation training, be it for Cabin Crew or Passenger Ground Handling - there is a rigorous interview process. However, if the hiring airline feels that there is some gap in the skillset of the candidate and he/she is not exactly ready yet, they put the candidate through PHT which stands for 'Pre Hire Training' module. Most PHT modules are 30 days during which such gaps are closed to the best they can. After the 30 day PHT, the candidates have one more round of interview and based on their performance, they are moved into the main training or to try the interview process from the beginning again after a stipulated period.

Straight to Training for New Hires! A new hire to our company undergo practical training just a few days of joining SFS how to manage the import clearance of an active container to the client supervised by an experienced employee. I must admit our new hire turnover rates are quite high, they usually last within a few days or just before the end of their probation period. From the onstart during interview, most informed me that they dont see opportunity in their current employment or wasn't given opportunity to upgrade. I told all of them point blank, that in SFS they will be EXPECTED to learn from us and also use their own SKILLS FUTURE credit to upgrade their skills and when they attend courses on their own, the company will continue to pay their salary. It takes two hands to clap. Unfortunately, many couldnt accept SFS high standards of training and expectation to upgrade themselves, so they resign on their own. Talk about no opportunity during interview? I made it clear to all employees to upgrade and not to be complacement or we risk losing our own jobs if we dont innovate or upgrade, that applies to me as well. The standards I set is very high, and I wont discount on that because when you are dealing with patient safety there is no compromise. Also, the skills learnt will remain with them, so it is to their benefit to upskill. #skillsupgrade #knowledgeispower #continuouslearning
