If the world's 1 billion cows were a country, they would be the third biggest GHG emitter after China and the US. That's nothing short of insane. We're super proud to have found Martin and Tommi at Agteria Biotech who are on the quest to remove 1% of global GHG emissions, and excited to join them in their pre-seed alongside Norrsken Launcher. https://lnkd.in/d3W2wEAs

❔How can fossil fuel exporting countries mitigate the effects of a declining fossil fuel demand? And what can be the role of #hydrogen and its derivatives? This was the highly relevant topic of last week's #FutureForumGreenHydrogen webinar by #H2diplo presented by Hendrik Meller. The webinar featured a spotlight on a new study by H2-diplo and Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI. The results were then discussed with a knowledgeable panel of experts Inga Boie (PhD), Elizabeth Press and Husain Almakrami, Ph.D. and accompanied by the perspective of the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany represented by Marcus Hicken Hicken and Holger Klitzing. The study spotlights and the following discussion made clear: 💡#PtX sector development offers opportunities for compensating revenue losses, but also requires targeted (diversification) strategies 💡Fossil fuel exporters bring valuable experience to become a successful part of the hydrogen market ramp-up, but they also face numerous challenges as they navigate the transformation journey 🔎 If you like to dive deeper into the topic, you can now find the #study online: https://lnkd.in/dfpyNkx3 H2-diplo is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office and is financed by the International Climate Initiative (Internationale Klimaschutzinitiative, IKI).

Today, Fossilfritt Sverige* submitted its proposal for a national bio-CCU/bio-CCS strategy to Sweden's Minister for the Climate and Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari. The purpose of the strategy is to show how: 🌱 Sweden can reduce the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere 🌍 Develop a new export industry for both bio-CCS and bio-CCU 🇪🇺 Take a leading role in the EU During the strategy handover event, the Minister highlights #eFuel as an important solution to eliminate CO2 emissions from hard-to-abate sectors such as #shipping. She also mentions how it can contribute to local production of fossil-free fuel and green defence. We are very proud to hear the Minister refer to one of Liquid Wind's eFuel facility projects: "We are going to support the development and production of eFuel, among other, the large-scale FlagshipONE eFuel facility in Örnsköldsvik, which is worth mentioning on a day like today!" Ørsted acquired #FlagshipONE in 2022 and is now building it adjacent to Övik Energi AB's CHP plant. *Fossil Free Sweden is an initiative by the Swedish Government to increase the pace of the climate transition. 🎬 See the recording here: https://lnkd.in/ge9R-eAC 📄 And read more about the strategy here: https://lnkd.in/dk7JzyTM #EUETS #FitFor55 #omställning #klimatomställning #elektrifiering #vätgas #grönvätgas #CCU #CCUS #CCS Swedish Armed Forces NATO Government Offices of Sweden Government Offices of Sweden Regeringskansliet, Försvarsdepartementet Försvarshögskolan - Swedish Defence University MSB (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) Carl-Oskar Bohlin Pål Jonson European Commission Länsstyrelserna

Are we ready to fundamentally challenge the way we live? A recent insight from the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) - "Is overconsumption the "elephant in the room" in the energy transition?" suggests shifting away from our current behaviour of overconsumption could be a viable alternative solution to climate change. Eric Bisil notes "The climate emergency requires humanity to take bold decisions to reverse consumption patterns and practices that threaten to unbalance the climatic equilibrium. We need the courage to explore all solutions, even those that require drastic changes in lifestyles." To have an impact this would mean moving away from our existing linear economies - extract raw materials from Nature, use them to make products, throw away those products - to a circular economy WITH reduced consumption. Part of our mission at TreeSisters is to inspire a global shift from a consumer to a restorer mindset. Donate to TreeSisters to take direct climate action and become a restorer! https://lnkd.in/e_fnVCBN

It’s been nearly three months since I joined Xplorobot as the Chief Revenue Officer and I’m more excited than ever about the opportunity ahead! Xplorobot is at the forefront of climate technology, developing cutting-edge software and hardware solutions aimed at helping heavy industry companies mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. We’re starting with methane, but we’ll soon expand into several other critical areas that will greatly improve the world’s ability to generate clean, scalable energy. With Xplorobot, I have the incredible chance to protect our planet and help businesses scale. Yes, it can be done sustainably. Methane, a potent greenhouse gas with over 25 times the impact on global warming compared to carbon dioxide over a 100-year period, is a significant contributor to climate change. Reducing methane emissions is crucial for slowing the rate of global warming and achieving near-term climate goals. Our technology at Xplorobot allows industries to detect and address these emissions effectively, setting a new standard in environmental responsibility. Xplorobot was recently listed as a “key innovator” of methane technologies in CTVC, a newsletter for 60,000 climate investors, founders, and market leaders. The article was written by an investor from Accelr8 VC. 🌏 I want to thank my friend of 25+ years, Oleg Mikhailov for this opportunity. Oleg is a visionary leader with a goal of creating a best in class technology company that paves the way for clean energy and scalable infrastructure for generations to come. Let's make a difference together! We’ll be at the Methane Mitigation Technology and Innovation Summit in Austin from June 11-13th. I hope to see you there. #ClimateTech #MethaneMitigation #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #Xplorobot https://lnkd.in/g_5wrUJM
