Dear HRs We are not in your shoes neither do do we know how you are feeling at the moment. Most of us has sent thousands of applications and when you call asking questions, in our heads we are trying to calculate which one it is or could be. Please be nice in your tone of voice. We understand that there a thousands of applicants you want to call and you can’t afford to waste time on one who can remember, put yourself in our shoes. I had a not so good experience with an HR this morning and all I can say is God Abeg😅😅 The more reason I will put every effort I can in growing my personal brand and business What?! Her tone of voice was off, ma if you are not in a good mood then you don’t need to make the phone call at all. You are just passing aggression to innocent applicants. HR: is this Salami Faith Oyiza Me: yes HR: you applied for a customer service role, you worked with so so so are you available to resume immediately? Me: Yes (still trying to figure out which it was) I had to ask, please is this location ibadan? HR: Didn’t you read the job description? Me: yes I did, but HR: okay you did. That’s why it’s stated customer service role ibadan.The pay is so so so Me: please what is the work hours like? HR: didn’t you read the job description? Me: yes (which kind wahala be this? Na so this work place go be?) I went ahead to ask her if it was a crime for me to ask questions as I have sent several applications out. HR: cut the call Me: hallelujah oo I know my worth and what I bring to the table, even if we are in search of jobs doesn’t make one less of a human being. Dear HR if you are seeing this, remember the lady you called in the morning, your tone of voice was very bad and demeaning, we are applicants not beggers.
