The Truth About Psilocybin Mushrooms In recent years, psilocybin mushrooms, or magic mushrooms, have sparked curiosity for their potential therapeutic benefits. Some claim healing power. Yet, skepticism is key. The scientific community urges caution. The evidence is mostly anecdotal and lacks robust approval. The Dosing Dilemma First, consider the challenge of dosage. Psilocybin comes in various strains. Each is unique in potency. These differences lead to unpredictable effects. In therapy, consistency matters. Without standardization, using psilocybin as a treatment remains complicated. Risks to Consider Next, let’s address the risks. Users may face psychological side effects: anxiety, paranoia, or overwhelming hallucinations. These experiences can be distressing, especially for those with mental health issues. This calls for thorough research and medical guidance before considering psilocybin as therapy. A Balanced Perspective In conclusion, the allure of psilocybin must be tempered with responsibility. The road to effective mental health treatments should focus on solid scientific foundations, not just popular beliefs. As we continue the exploration, let us prioritize evidence over intrigue. #Psilocybin #MagicMushrooms #MentalHealth #TherapeuticBenefits #MentalHealthAwareness #DosingDilemma #PsychologicalEffects #Anxiety #Hallucinations #Research #MentalHealthMatters #Healing #Mindfulness #HealthAndWellness #Therapy #Science #EvidenceBased #AnecdotalEvidence #MindExploration #Caution #PsilocybinTherapy #PublicHealth #MentalWellness #Wellbeing #PersonalJourney #MushroomMedicine #NatureHeals #ResponsibleUse #Exploration #HealingJourney

Terms that I (personally) try to stay away from: 🚫 CRAZY, INSANE, ILLNESS The first two might be obvious. "Illness", to me, communicates a malfunction, something viral or inherently sick. My belief around mental health is that certain "conditions" or even "disorders" arise in response to traumatic events in life, paired with a genetic predisposition to receive these events more intensely. It can be argued that a mental "illness" is actually an adaptive pattern of behaviors created in response to a proportionally radical and challenging set of circumstances. My position is that mental conditions are signs of radical resilience, not illness. Healing individuals from the original trauma or source should be the work, not demonizing or hyper fixating on the behaviors or symptoms. Instead of illness", I use "condition" or "disorder", or just reference the behaviors in question. At the end of the day, a mental "illness" diagnosis is just a collection of behaviors. 🚫 DRUG This is in reference to psychedelic medicine. Drug vs Medicine is based on one's intention. Anytime I refer to a psychedelic substance in this space, I refer to it as a 'medicine'. I am showing respect to it and referring to it in a healing capacity. Anything can be made into a drug. Love, sex, food, etc. 'Drug' is not a concrete thing - it is the intention behind the use of something. 🚫 BAD TRIP I try to not refer to challenging and even scary experiences in the spiritual realm as 'bad trips.' I certainly have had moments of extreme discomfort and perpetual fear during experiences. And I'm sure there are many cases that are similar and have gone far deeper. "Bad trip" reduces and strips an experience of it's potency, and does not acknowledge the surrounding factors that might have contributed to the discomfort during the experience. I have found the greatest meaning and lessons from my darkest moments in medicine - it would cheapen them so much to call them a broad, dull word like 'bad.' --- Let me know if you agree or push back on these sentiments 🙏 ❔ #onewayforward #behavioralhealth #holisticmedicine #psychedelictherapy #psychedelicmedicine #mentalhealth #businessdevelopment #consulting

Besides not being able to heal properly, the body also can not function at its best, whether you are doing physical exercise, or trying to be productive at work, or giving birth, or simply trying to digest your meal. If you are in what we call “ fight or flight” or in a heightened state of alert you will stop being able to perform at your best, whatever you are doing. See this "fight or flight" state as a mobile phone with lots of windows open, eventually it starts to slow down performance and you need to close them. In a simplistic way that’s what our bodies do, but we push it every day a little more and don’t realise we are in that heightened state, and it becomes our "normal". ...then we wake up tired.. Our postures change and fall in to a ripple of compensatory patters… Our digestive/immune/ hormonal systems struggle… Our breathing becomes shallow… Our mental health becomes compromised… Our relationships suffer…etc 💆🏻♀️ So, managing stress becomes essential for facilitating healing. Therapeutic modalities such as Bowen therapy, EMMETT Technique and Be Activated used in our clinic promote a sense of well-being and can help shift the body out of "fight or flight" mode and into a state conducive to healing. This understanding underscores the importance of an holistic approach to health that address not only physical ailments but also mental and emotional well-being. 🧘🏽♂️ April is recognised as Stress Awareness month hoping to bring attention to the negative impact stress has in our lives. Be vigilant, stay safe. Why not try something new and stop by for a Bowen Therapy session? #stjohnswoodsoc #maidavale #littlevenice #crouchendmums #crouchend #muswellhill #angellondon #islingtonlife #Bowentherapy #stressawarenessmonth2024 #stressrelief

How big part of your life is food? Your thoughts will probably trick you and transform my question to: how much or how often do you eat? It is not wrong, because my question can be understood in this way as well. However my question invites you to look at our cultural and social context as well. Not a “novum” really; we do see a coherence between social/familiy activities and food. Maybe some of you work with nutrition or experience how food can be used to reduce stress and other mental challenges. Our world is filled up with contrasts also in this field. Some suffer from hunger, some suffer because of obesity. We spent millions on food, throwing to the garbage almost as much. Our children and adolescents follow false dreams of being perfect human as long as weight is below certain BMI. Or, they eat too much, too fast, trying to find inner peace, covering sadness with sweetness. I wish I could say that we who are adults are less occupied with the subject and copy better in the face of potential problems. The truth is that we can fall in the vicious circle of food-regulation without really noticing that. World isn’t constant. World is a project in process, and so are many of mental problems we experience. It demands that professionalists are not only „up to date” but also dare to try think innovative and let themselves be inspired by different therapeutic approaches. I am lucky to work with many skilled professionals working with Eating Disorders Team at Policlinic Bjørgvin in Bergen. Our team has an interdisciplinary focus which I consider as a strength. I am proud to be part of this team and to have possibility to contribute in it’s work. My therapeutic toolbox 🧰 has grown! 😉 (CBT-E, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders). #eatingdisorder #mentalhealth #helse #spiseforstyrrelser #psykiskhelse #zdrowie #zaburzeniaodżywiania

Conventional medical approaches often focus on managing mental health and chronic conditions rather than resolving them. After our founder @jemiesaekoo's first transformative experience with plant medicine, where it lifted her out of depression for the first time in her life, she still had to navigate how to choose to make certain lifestyle shifts to find the healing she needed in her life. She realized she needed to close the gap by applying the insights from her plant medicine experience to her daily life. The psychedelic experience is just the start; the integration process is the journey and the everyday, moment-by-moment decision in how you choose to show up as the fullest expression and best version of yourself. This journey led her to focus on addressing root causes with natural and holistic approaches, and working with hundreds of clients who have experienced sustainable, long-lasting positive results. For only one time this year, she’s opening up to share all her knowledge and methods in how to overcome depression naturally with just 35 selected individuals. ➡️ DM or COMMENT "HCP" to join the waitlist. #MentalHealth #PlantMedicine #HolisticHealing #NaturalHealing #RootCauseHealing #SustainableWellness #MindBodySpirit #DepressionRecovery #PsychedelicIntegration #TransformativeHealing #HolisticApproach #LongTermHealth #PersonalGrowth #MentalWellness #HealingJourney

Integration accounts for 90% of psychedelic healing. And it's the biggest missed step. The Western mind is often the hardest to heal because this mindset thinks in quick fixes, avoidance and repression of emotions, and thinking that if you ingest something - it'll do all the work. And this isn't at all how psychedelic healing happens. Healing is quite the opposite. Today, the Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Global Summit starts. It's free and online. I'll be there presenting on Trauma-Informed psychedelic preparation/integration. You may head to my bio link to register. One of my specialties is Trauma-Trained psychedelic preparation and integration. Integration and preparation are the most missed pieces of psychedelic healing. With 20% of all psychedelic experiences being difficult and Traumatic - you really want to lean into a deep preparation phase. Sadly, most folks think psychedelics magically work without any effort or change and avoid integration, do it without support, and/or don't work with someone who in trained in helping to integrate Trauma - and never realize psychedelic healing or wholeness. Wholeness is for real - Reach out for support if you're curious or stuck. I'm accepting new online clients and have been a MAPS approved psychedelic preparation/integration specialist for a long time. I was the first in my state to step into this work and I'm here for the marathon - until all beings are liberated.💫 #psychedelics #psychedelichealing #traumahealing #psychedelicintegation #trauma #healingjourney

What is the secret to great health? Understanding that everything is a system. Our universe and earth are all systems: solar system, eco systems, marine systems. And inside you there are many systems: biological, psychological, cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine, skeletal and muscular systems, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive, are all systems. Your consciousness is system too: unconscious, conscious and higher consciousness which is all driving your mental, emotional, behavioural and physical systems. And lastly, your life is a system: home, work, family, friends, social, local, global. But what happens when one or more of your systems begin to malfunction? Disorder ensues and depending how many systems and the degree to which they malfunction, depends on how much disorder you’ll have to deal with before you can get the systems of your life back in order and functioning properly again. But the more mental, emotional or physical energy you’re required to expel to bring your systems back to order, the weaker your internal resources become, which compounds the problem and causes your behavioural systems to go haywire. Behavioural disorder leads to more internal and external disorder and a breakdown in your life systems which lead you to living in a state of survival. What causes our systems to malfunction? ❌ Stress ❌ Pressures ❌ Worries ❌ Anxieties ❌ Threats ❌ Loss ❌ Grief Normally we push our way through, we toughen up, buckle down and push forward, focusing in on the problem until it’s resolved. What we need in those times is a rock solid system that holds our mental, emotional, physical and behavioural systems in strong working order so we can navigate our way through the obstacles of our life. #findyourfreedom #personalhealthleadership #lovinglifelosingweight #katiegordon #dietlessliving #system #greathealth
