TWO NEW LIGHTHOUSES IN ODISHA, CELEBRATING INDIA’S MARITIME HERITAGE AND ECONOMIC POTENTIAL GROWTH. Odisha will soon have two new lighthouses at Chaumukha in Balasore and Dhamra in Bhadrak, announced Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during the 2nd Indian Lighthouse Festival. These additions aim to promote tourism and empower coastal communities. Odisha currently boasts five operational lighthouses: Gopalpur, Puri, Chandrabhaga, Paradip, and False Point. Sonowal highlighted lighthouse tourism's exponential growth, with visitors increasing from 400,000 in 2014 to 1.6 million last fiscal year. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, ₹60 crore has been invested to upgrade 75 iconic lighthouses, adding museums, amphitheaters, and parks. The festival, recognized nationally, celebrates India's maritime heritage and aims to enhance tourist experiences. Notable attendees included Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Ministers Shantanu Thakur and Suresh Gopi. These developments solidify lighthouses as symbols of heritage and economic growth. #MYBhubaneswar - Share and stay updated.

Exploring the Roads of Odisha: A Journey Worth Remembering Recently, I embarked on an incredible road trip from Lapanga to INS Chilka, via the enchanting city of Puri. What truly amazed me was the impeccable road infrastructure throughout the journey. The connectivity, road conditions, and ongoing development projects left me in awe. It's a testament to the tremendous efforts put in by the Road Ministry and the Odisha Government to make travel not just convenient but also enjoyable. The roads were not just well-maintained but also thoughtfully designed with: Clear and abundant signage: These guide travelers to nearby refreshment points, crucial turns, and alternate routes, ensuring everyone stays on track and fully informed. Safety measures: Ongoing construction and upgradation work aim to make roads safer and more accessible for everyone. Seamless connectivity: The smooth linkages between cities and landmarks like Puri and INS Chilka reflect strategic planning and execution at its best. The focus on modernizing the infrastructure is not only beneficial for travelers but also boosts regional development, making Odisha a beacon for tourism and trade. The vision and commitment of the Road Ministry and the Odisha Government are paving the way (quite literally!) for a better tomorrow. Kudos to all the teams involved in this remarkable transformation. This journey has not only strengthened my admiration for Odisha’s rich culture and natural beauty but also for its dedication to progress and excellence in public infrastructure. If you’re looking for a road trip filled with scenic beauty and smooth drives, Odisha’s roads won’t disappoint! #TravelDiaries #Odisha #RoadInfrastructure #GovernmentInitiatives #Connectivity

There was a superhit scene in a Tamil movie called Soorarai Pottru, where a group of villagers take off from an airstrip in Rural Tamil Nadu to Chennai for the first time. The best part? They broke the stereotype that flying was an activity of the urban elite. This is not a cinematic storyline anymore. It is an example of the country’s progress in making every Indian fly. The UDAN scheme was launched by the Government of India in 2016 to enhance regional connectivity by making air travel more accessible and affordable for the common citizen, particularly in underserved and unserved areas of the country. The scheme aims to connect remote and regional areas, facilitating travel to places that previously had limited or no air service. By enhancing connectivity, UDAN seeks to promote trade, tourism, and overall economic growth in these regions. The scheme has led to the creation of jobs in various sectors, including aviation, hospitality, and local businesses that benefit from increased tourist footfall. Local businesses have gained new opportunities to reach broader markets, thanks to improved connectivity, which allows for faster and more efficient transportation of goods and services. Q: Where to find antelopes in Bandhavgarh ? Ans: Nilgai (Blue cow / bull) is the most common large antelope whose sighting is common in Madhya Pradesh national park. They have good presence in Bandhavgarh. Similarly Indian Gazelle (Chinkara) is also having good presence in Bandhavgarh national park but during jungle safaris, most we don't see them or rarely find the Nilgai but Chinkara often remains away from sight. It is common experience. Reason behind this experience is our tiger centric approach which we book only high tiger density zones. Nilgai sighting is good in Magadhi zone (occasional), Dhamokhar zone (frequently) and Panpatha zone (frequently). For Indian Gazelle (Chinkara) sighting, we have to take a short tour on village outskirts of Guruwahi and Kuchwahi area. It is said that vegetation of this patch is liked by Chinkara thus they are often seen in this areas. #bandhavgarh #antelopes #nilgai #chinkara #safari #magadhi #dhamokhar The Cabs The Holidays Sunil Kumar Dubey Phil Cowie IATO Indian Association of Tour Operators Madhya Pradesh Tourism #indusexcursion
