Time is your greatest asset. ⏰ Make it count Meet Angela Vargas Carbajal, a Peruvian MBA student at Esade with a passion for fintech! 🌎💼 I always cherish the energy and drive that ambitious women bring to the table. That new feeling of coming out of the MBA, ready to conquer the world, is one I can relate to. 🌟 Connecting with fellow Latinas in places far from home is especially inspiring. So, when Angela reached out saying she was visiting Berlin and wanted to learn about my experience in the fintech industry, I didn't hesitate to invite her to the N26 office for a chat. 🗺️✨ Our meeting was a fantastic opportunity where we discussed the fintech landscape, shared our journeys, and talked about the wins and challenges we’ve faced. 💬💡 Moments like these remind me of the importance of mentorship and giving back. Angela expressed how much she values it when people invest their most precious asset—their time. 🕰️💖 My ask to her: Grow and compound over time, my dear. We need more women, and more Latinas, in the fintech space. 🌱💪 Here’s to more connections, more conversations, and more women making waves in the fintech world! 🚀🌊 XOXO, Fintech Girl 💕 #WomenInFintech #LatinasInTech #Fintech #MBA #Networking #WomenEmpowerment #CareerJourney #ESADE #N26 __ Follow me Melissa Patiño for regular fintech (banking and investment) insights & updates

I'm excited to share my new feature "When Half become Minority" that focus on female in start-up world. The article explores how structural barriers and ingrained biases make it significantly harder for women to secure funding and scale their companies, even when they outperform their male counterparts. I also highlights how the rise of ESG investing is creating new opportunities for female founders. As more women enter the investor field and become the cheque writers, they are helping to level the playing field and direct capital towards impactful solutions led by women. The third part goes to FemTech, a vocabulary that usually misheard as FinTech in Hong Kong. In the realm of health care, the huge gender gap existed and business potential remained untapped. Many brilliant women are digging up the solution to make money with social impact. Maaike Steinebach made a perfect wrap-up: "The most important thing is not to turn this into a cry-baby story......There is upside, there is exit potential in FemTech business." Thanks for these tough hearts and beautiful minds: Gita Sjahrir-Wright, Pui-Wah Choi, Olivia Cotes-James,Vivi Hu, Rebecca Lim, CFA 莊孟瑜 Carrie, Alia Rahman Check it out: https://lnkd.in/gZ4AWezy #WomenInTech #FemaleFounders #Entrepreneurship #Diversity #Inclusion #FemTech #Gendergap #Gaptable

Attending Moonshot by TechCabal was an eye-opening experience that reinforced alx_africa ’s mission to bridge the digital talent gap by empowering young Africans. Throughout the event, it became clear how Africa’s digital transformation hinges on policy, talent, and emerging technologies, all of which were explored in various sessions. The “Building for the World” session set the tone by highlighting the crucial role of government policies in shaping a competitive digital economy. This directly aligns with ALX’s mission to create a tech-empowered workforce capable of leveraging global opportunities, supported by an enabling policy environment. Jeremy Johnson’s keynote on “Closing the Technical Talent Gap” continued this theme, emphasizing how nurturing Africa’s tech talent is essential to driving innovation and growth, alx_africa ’s work in training young Africans for the digital economy directly contributes to this goal, positioning the continent for future success. The “AI in Action” panel further showcased how local talent is vital to Africa’s adoption of AI across sectors like healthcare and agriculture. As Africa becomes a key player in AI, communities like ALX, which foster and develop this talent, will play a pivotal role in driving the continent’s progress. In the “Innovating in Payments and Fintech” panel, discussions focused on how Africa’s rapidly evolving Fintech sector needs improvements in infrastructure, regulation, and access—key areas I also discussed during my interview with AITnews. The alignment between the panel’s insights and my thoughts on Fintech underscores the importance of tailored solutions to meet Africa’s unique challenges. Indeed, the ALX community is a thriving hub for tech enthusiasts, offering the resources and support needed to drive meaningful impact across Africa’s digital landscape. Being part of this movement is incredibly exciting, as it contributes directly to shaping the continent’s future. #ALX9jaCommunity #ALXatMoonshot2024 #MoonShotbyTechCabal
