If you are even thinking about starting a govtech company, you should be able to take something away from this conversation. Talking to transparent founders like Ansley, gives you a real sense of the journey and hopefully will help you not make the same mistakes we made. Check out the episode below. Also, big thanks to Jean Ross, RN for the introduction!

🎲🃏 You’ve gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, and most importantly, know when it’s time for a pivot. In my latest conversation with Nigel Eccles, co-founder of Fanduel, we talk about why the most successful companies often have to change course to make it big. Nigel shares how his own pivots, from prediction markets to fantasy sports, led to building a billion-dollar business. Our conversation went deep into the lessons learned from his journey and the critical pivots that shaped his path. Key Insights: 💡 The power of probability – How Nigel’s background in mathematics shaped his approach to business. 🔄 Pivoting to success – Why most successful startups, including Fanduel, pivot and the signs to look for in your own business. 🎯 Focus on the right customer – Nigel’s insight on identifying a narrow, passionate demographic for your product’s early success. Was lucky enough to be invited on the Snowpal Podcast https://bit.ly/4e9LcI1 recently to talk about all #startup things. When I ask early-stage #founders WHY they want to be entrepreneurs, I get three major answers. Most have bought into the heroic solo-founder myth and feel like entrepreneurship is a path to wealth, autonomy, and/or fame. Here's my take on all three.
