Today the United Nations ESG Global Leaders Conference kicks off in Shanghai, China, gathering global leaders and decision-makers to advance sustainable development. This year, ETC Chair Adair Turner will highlight global policies and initiatives for combatting climate change and advancing the energy transition in his keynote speech. Adair will comment on the pathways to reach net-zero emissions - "We all have to agree and understand that this is a huge shared global problem for all of us to limit global warming to 1.5°C...what we need to do is get the global economy to be a net-zero economy by mid-century and at the ETC we believe that should involve all rich developed countries getting there by 2050 at the latest and all developing countries by 2060 at the latest."
