What do Manatees and Elephants have in common? A common ancestor! Elephants stayed on land and manatees chose the sea life. Manatees are gentle giants and unfortunately, their population is shrinking! We can take action on Manatee Appreciation Day by reaching out to U.S. Department of the Interior. Check out the Ocean Conservancy's post for more details! To learn more about them check out NOAA's quick lesson linked below. https://lnkd.in/ejBDyvyA

It's Manatee Appreciation Day! 🌊🐮 It’s more important now than ever that we protect them—Florida has lost more than 1,300 manatees in the last two years alone. Speak out and tell the U.S. Department of the Interior to put the manatee back on the Endangered Species List: https://lnkd.in/eRnb3PCd 📹: David Schrichte/Ocean Image Bank
