Happy International Men’s Day! As men, we rarely pause to celebrate ourselves, nor do the corporate world or society often champion this day. Today, let’s take a moment to reflect and honor what being a man truly means. The path forward lies in: Embracing our emotions—no matter how dark or complex they might be. Educating ourselves to include and respect all humans, beyond biases. Expressing vulnerability and breaking free from societal expectations. Becoming aware of unconscious biases and how they shape our actions. By acknowledging that men, too, are victims of patriarchy, we can empower ourselves to become positive role models for the generations to come. This is how we, as a community, can truly assist in creating a better, more inclusive world. To all my colleagues, juniors, and peers—let’s honor this day and work toward a brighter future. Happy International Men’s Day!

🇩🇰🇸🇪 Celebrating National Days and Embracing Diversity! 🇩🇰🇸🇪 Today, we celebrate Denmark's National Day, and tomorrow, we join our Swedish colleagues in honoring Sweden's Flag Day. Working in an international company as Zacco - 360° Intellectual Property, we have the unique opportunity to embrace and celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that each of us brings to the table. Last week was particularly enriching as Mille Bülow Verndal and I had the pleasure of bringing together colleagues from Denmark, Sweden and India. These interactions highlighted the beauty of our diverse workplace and the immense value that comes from sharing different perspectives. Here are a few learnings from these interactions: 1. **Cultural Insights:** Understanding the nuances of our work cultures has broadened my perspective and it will improve our collaboration. 2. **Innovative Solutions:** Diverse viewpoints often lead to creative solutions. Our discussions led to innovative ideas that I wouldn't have thought of alone. 3. **Strengthened Bonds:** Celebrating our differences and learning from one another has strengthened our team's bond and built a more inclusive work environment. As we celebrate these national days, let's continue to honor and learn from the rich tapestry of cultures within our global team. Embracing diversity isn't just about acknowledging different national days—it's about integrating the best of each culture into our everyday work life. …. And now I just hope that Denmark will beat Sweden in the football match currently being played ⚽️ #Diversity #Inclusion #NationalDays #InternationalCompany #Teamwork #Learning #Denmark #Sweden #India #CelebrateDiversity #Ipservices

Tomorrow is International Men’s Day! As a man, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to conform to traditional roles and expectations. The pressure to align with these societal norms can be immense. International Men’s Day aims to shine a spotlight on these struggles, encouraging us to rethink and break free from stereotypes. At TÜV SÜD, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone can share their perspectives. Together, we form a diverse mosaic that thrives on inclusivity and respect. Last week, in the lead-up to this day, we focused on the experiences of men—especially fathers. We were honored to host Jörg Kundrath as a guest speaker. Jörg provided invaluable insights into the complexities of balancing responsibilities as a father across all areas of life. His pragmatic tips offered participants tools for practicing self-awareness and managing their many roles. Personally, I gained a lot from this session and look forward to delving deeper into this topic. The International Men’s Day as an opportunity to continue these important conversations—both within our teams and beyond. For a future where everyone can thrive, irrespective of societal expectations!

Honoring Men for Who They Are. On this International Men’s Day, we pause to celebrate you (men) not just for what you do, but for who you are. We appreciate you for your essence, your individuality, and unique contributions to the designed walls of humanity. Beyond societal expectations and cultural norms, we acknowledge that you are much more than the sum of your responsibilities. Your dreams, emotions, strengths, and vulnerabilities as individual, deserves recognition and appreciation simply for being you. The individuality you bring to every interaction and space you inhabit, the quiet inner strength that enables you face life’s challenges with resilience and grace; caring nature through words, actions, and even silent support, are all evidences of the depth of your humanity. We see and commend you as a dreamer and doer, driven to achieve not just for those you are responsible for but also for your own growth and fulfillment as testament of your footprints on this side of existence; your concealed emotions, struggles, and quiet triumphs are relatable and worthy of acknowledgment. In a world that often tie worth to output, on this special occasion - International Men’s Day, we appreciate you (men) beyond your actions. It’s about recognizing your presence and value without attaching it to the roles you play or the responsibilities you carry. Your courage and willingness to explore the unknown inspire us to step out of our comfort zones; your stability is a source of calm and comfort in a chaotic world; your ideas and creativity make the world a more vibrant and exciting place. Yeeeesss! we also acknowledge the beauty of your imperfections. Like everyone else, you are on a journey of growth and self-discovery. You are being celebrated today simply for existing and to create a culture where you can feel free to live without the weight of unrealistic expectations or societal pressures. Please embrace your true selves, know that you are not always defined by roles or achievements, but by the simple fact that YOU ARE YOU! Happy International Men’s Day!

🌍 Celebrating International Left-Handers Day! 🌍 Although International Left-Handers Day was on August 13th, it’s never too late to celebrate the unique and wonderful world of left-handedness! 🎉 Did you know that only about 10% of the world’s population is left-handed? Despite being a minority, left-handers have made significant contributions across various fields. From Leonardo da Vinci and Marie Curie to Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey, lefties have left an indelible mark on history. Challenges We Face: Everyday Tools: Many everyday items, like scissors, can openers, and even desks, are designed for right-handers, making simple tasks a bit more challenging. Writing Smudges: Lefties often struggle with smudging ink or graphite while writing, especially with traditional pens and pencils (been there). Sports Equipment: Sports gear, such as golf clubs and baseball gloves, are often harder to find in left-handed versions (some sports, I have adapted being right-handed, like cricket). Unique Capabilities: Creativity and Innovation: Studies suggest that left-handers may have a higher propensity for creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Adaptability: Navigating a right-handed world has made lefties more adaptable and resilient. For instance, I’ve adapted to using a right-handed mouse since it’s the default setting on most computers. Ambidexterity: Many left-handers develop ambidextrous skills, becoming proficient with both hands. Moreover, during university, there were only a few single seats with left-handed desks, usually in the front row. As a proud backbencher, I adapted to using right-handed seats while still writing with my left hand. Cultural Perceptions: In some cultures, left-handedness has been viewed with suspicion or negativity. For example, a friend of mine became ambidextrous, as his mother persistently scolded him to use his right hand, considering left-handedness a bad trait. However, many societies are now recognizing and celebrating the unique strengths of left-handers. In Western cultures, left-handedness is often associated with creativity and intelligence. Let’s continue to embrace and celebrate the diversity that left-handers bring to our world. Whether you’re a lefty or a righty, let’s appreciate the unique perspectives and talents that make us all special. #InternationalLeftHandersDay #LeftHanded #Diversity #Inclusion #Creativity

🌍✨ Recognizing International Allyship Day - August 8th ✨🌍 Today is International Allyship Day. Please take a moment to recognize and honor the vital role that allies play in creating a better world. [Edit to add TLDR : Allies change the world through sharing our journeys and standing in solidarity. To be a better ally listen and learn about others, educate yourself on others' issues, stand up for others, use your advantages to share platforms, and build your emotional intelligence. We are in this together!] As some point we all need an ally, and we will need to be an ally. My allies have been there for me in times of celebration and hardship. I’ve sought to be an ally for others in the same way. Allyship goes beyond simply being aware; it involves taking active steps to support and uplift others. It’s about commitment, solidarity, and a shared journey towards a better future. Here are some steps you can take to be a better ally: Listen. Learn. Take the time to genuinely listen to the experiences of others. Understanding their stories and struggles is the first step in becoming an effective ally. Educate Yourself. Invest in your own learning. Read books, attend lectures, and engage with a diversity of perspectives to broaden your understanding of others. Take Action. Stand up. Whether it’s in the workplace, in social settings, or online, use your voice to advocate for real change for those who need it. Uplift. Support and celebrate the achievements of others. Share their work, amplify their voices, and offer your platform to those who may not have one. Self-Reflect. Regularly examine your own assumptions, beliefs and life advantages. Commit to continuous personal growth. Challenge your assumptions and beliefs. Leverage your advantages to help others. International Allyship Day reminds us that every effort, big or small, counts towards building a world where everyone feels respected and valued. Together we can lift each other up and create lasting change! #InternationalAllyshipDay #Allyship #Inclusion #Diversity #Support #Community #TogetherWeRise
