This resource created by my lovely friend Meghan Wise is so touching. I believe, the tools shared here, can be very applicable in our #energyefficiency and #decarbonization work helping to build joy and #empathy in all aspects of our human engagements. I know Unrooz Solutions can adopt many of the strategies presented when we engage with our community members in workgroups, listening sessions, or other forums and workshops. Meghan also helped me see the benefit of using art as a way to heal and create connection. I will be using this in one our next in-person meetings or workshops! Are there particular strategies that resonate with you? What can you integrate in your work?
Over the last couple of years, I’ve been slowly chipping away at my next climate care and communication handbook. It's FINALLY ready to share. 🌱 The intent of this handbook is to weave together an accessible tapestry of climate communication approaches, strategies, and ideas to support caring conversations and messaging to meaningfully address magnifying impacts of human caused climate change on individuals, communities and systems. Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson’s Climate Venn Diagram calls us in to reflect on what brings us joy, what we are good at, and what needs doing. Creating care-based, climate focused resources that support community climate engagement, conversation, creativity, wellbeing and a feeling of possibility toward meaningful action and better futures for all, sits at the nexus of my Venn diagram. This is not a perfect resource, nor a complete guide on these important issues. But hopefully it is a welcoming stepping stone for anyone looking for ways to deepen or expand their approaches to communicating climate change issues, challenges, stories, hope, joy, uncertainly, possibilities, and pathways for uplifting collective, interspecies dignity and thriving 💚 https://lnkd.in/gyTZKz5q

"Today, NOAA is further embedding equity in its climate data, information, science, tools and decision support through the release of its Equitable Climate Services Action Plan [Accessible PDF]. The plan aims to expand the reach and accessibility of NOAA’s climate services, enabling the agency to better respond to the climate adaptation and resilience needs of all communities — with an emphasis on historically underserved populations." https://lnkd.in/gEcq3y-U

CA's Transformative Climate Communities is a proven model for delivering funding to communities most impacted by climate change, allowing them to build power and resilience - but in light of the state's budget deficit, TCC is at risk, threatening the state's progress on climate equity. In our latest blog by Deirel Marquez and Amy Castañeda, we share insights from communities on the ground that have benefitted from TCC funding, demonstrating the transformative potential the program holds. Understanding this real-world impact is essential to making the case to legislators that programs like TCC are ESSENTIAL to CA's climate future. Read more here: https://bit.ly/45Ex3A4
