After a patient visit, integrating trauma-informed care (TIC) can bring closure in a way that makes the patient feel heard and respected. Following a procedure, try: 🔹Debriefing the exam with the patient, including how they are feeling mentally and physically 🔹Going over any recommendations and a plan of action for the patient 🔹Asking for feedback to keep improving your own practice 🔹Thanking the patient for allowing you to be their medical provider Hear more from providers on integrating TIC after a patient visit in our new video: https://bit.ly/4f8He3e

Gathering patient feedback for a GP or PA revalidation can be a time-consuming process for the clinician involved, diverting their time away from patient care. We’re here to help. As part of your Patient Feedback Package, we can produce a bespoke questionnaire, unique to an individual clinician, which can then be sent out to all the patients they have seen over a given period, ensuring that they meet the minimum requirements recommended by the BMA (34 individual reviews). We can then develop a customized report for the clinician, ensuring that this part of their revalidation is achieved with ease and simplicity.

Does it make sense to schedule as many patient consultations as possible? Yes ... and no. You don't want to fill your calendar with people who will never convert into a procedure - literally a waste of your time. You need to pre-qualify them. Set more barriers in place. Create more friction, more steps for the patient to go in order to schedule the consultation. Your consultation volume will go down. Patient quality will skyrocket. Sometimes it makes sense to take 1 step back to be able to take 3 steps forward.

You want a doctor who has EMPATHY as well, not just knowledge. This cannot be overstressed. For though knowledge is necessary for diagnosis and patient management, without a deliberate and genuine effort to know your patient, a lot gets left to assumption which increases the chances of an INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS being made and with the wrong diagnosis, management will tend to be flawed as well. Empathy puts theory to practice and SAFELY.🙏 #EmpathyInMedicalPractice #SafeMedicalPractice
