Can you help me and my team? The Victory Ride to Cure Cancer is less than a month away. My legs are still not ready, so I think I might have to convince Mujteba Haidri, Scott Long, Pete Deichler, PMP, & joseph gillikin that we should put in a 50 mile training ride this weekend. That said, I'm ~$300 shy of taking the #2 spot for Top Fundraisers. Our team is currently sitting at #2 already but I'm not sure we can overtake the Biker Chicks. This speaks to the importance of building a bigger team for the 2025 ride since they've got at least 5 more on their team than we do. Since I'm reading Anthony Lee's book, Race for Greatness, I'm reading that he used to put in some strong 60 mile rides on his bike back in the day. Maybe we'll have to recruit him for the 2025 Victory Ride? I'm sure there are others in LinkedIn world who wanna join us too. (Just let me know.) If you are able to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts, I would be grateful. One hundred percent of your gift goes directly to cancer researchers. Every year, I hear stories about how someone affiliated with the Victory Ride has a family member who benefited from the research that the V-Foundation funds. Every dollar helps. You can make a secure donation at the link in the comments section. #VictoryOverCancer #CancerSucks #VictoryRide

There is just 6 weeks between these photos 💔 Childhood cancer is not something anyone wants to think about. We didn't. Until it happened to us. Only 2% of childhood cancer research funding comes from the government. The rest comes from people like us... normal people that have been directly impacted, and are doing everything we can to change the outcome for other children. We operate almost entirely on a volunteer basis. Fundraising gurus will tell you that, to attract corporate partnerships and support, we need to find a way to align our causes with the business's aims and policies. We need to find 'synergies'. The challenge is, childhood cancer isn't on any business's #ESG policy. There aren't many synergies to be found. But, we still need to raise money; to support our awareness campaigns, our pledge to ICR's research project, and real-life children and their families throughout their cancer journey. If you're interested and able to support us in achieving Aoife's missions, how ever that looks for your business, please get in touch to discuss options. There wouldn't be enough words to express our gratitude 🌸 #corporatepartnerships #corporatecharitysupport #smallcharity #childhoodcancercharity #cancercharity #supportacharity #germcellcancer #childhoodgermcellcancer #itcouldhappentoyou #workingmums #workingparents

I'm just a normal mummy, doing everything that I can to prevent what happened to Aoife, from happening to any other child. To give children a fair chance at survival by early diagnosis, child-specific cancer drugs, and supporting them & their families on this journey. If you, or your business, think that they could help support us - however that might look for you. Please get in touch! 💗 #businesscharitysupport #corporatecharitysupport #corporatepartnerships #childhoodcancer #childrenscharity #smallcharity

This year, the COS team once again proudly participated in the Great Cycle Challenge — joining the ride to fight kids' cancer! A huge shoutout to Angie Viada, M.S., PMP, CSM, Shaunna Schelin- Kowalewski, Stacie Hudgens, Amy Howerter, and Kayleigh M. for their incredible efforts, collectively riding 734.4 miles and raising $2,527.16 in donations to support this critical cause. Why do we ride? Because over 15,700 American children are diagnosed with #cancer each year, and sadly, 38 children lose their battle every week. These inspiring women are making sure those numbers change, giving kids a fighting chance for a brighter future. At COS, we believe that everyone can make a meaningful impact — and together, we can all make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer. The Great Cycle Challenge, which benefits the Children's Cancer Research Fund, has grown into one of the biggest cycling events in the U.S., with riders from all 50 states covering a combined 33,817,103 miles and raising over $72,646,876 for research. We've all been touched by cancer in some way, and we're calling on everyone to hop on their bikes and join this amazing cause next year! Let’s keep pedaling for those who need it most. 🚨Please help me in raising $200 to send an advocate to Washington D.C. with NCCS!!! 🎗️By raising funds, this campaign will help patient advocates join state representatives and lawmakers on Capitol Hill to disscuss important legislation for cancer patients and survivors. Without people advocating for patients, who will? #patientadvocate #policyadvocate #canceradvocate

On June 23, 2020, we faced an unimaginable loss. Ade Ayodele, a vibrant sports executive, dedicated friend, and cherished member of the Ayodele family, passed away from colon cancer at just 31 years old. Determined to transform our grief into purpose, we channeled our energy into supporting the the V Foundation's Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. In 2020 alone, we raised $100,000 to advance the understand the biological basis of cancer disparities. Through Facebook fundraisers, runs, and rides, our community united to prevent others from enduring similar heartache. These efforts have evolved into our annual Play for Ade golf tournament, celebrating Ade's passion for golf and mentorship. This year's event was especially memorable as my little 2-year-old Ade picked up a club for the first time, swinging in honor of his late uncle. Yet, our mission is far from complete. Too many young lives, like those of Stuart Scott, Chadwick Boseman, and Virgil Abloh, are cut short by cancer, and we don't know why. I am proud to announce that we donated another $5,000 this year, thanks to the unwavering support of our attendees, sponsors, and community. That was the seed, but we aim to double (or triple or quadruple) our impact again this year. Join us in contributing to Ade’s memorial fund with the V Foundation (LINK BELOW), and together, let’s continue the crucial work to end cancer disparities. https://lnkd.in/gsaxzvTK #PlayForAde #VCancerResearch #CancerAwareness #Fundraiser #JoinTheFight #InMemory #GolfForGood #DonateNow

Bradley University houses many students who are driven by compassion. I had the pleasure of interviewing seven female students who recently started a new chapter of Fighting Pretty: a nationwide non-profit chapter that provides aid to women battling cancer. I am inspired by the stories their stories and it was an honor to share them with readers. Check out my new article for "Here's the Latest" https://lnkd.in/gmU86TBM
