Australia's offshore wind industry continues to gain momentum, with industry stakeholders at the 2024 Offshore Wind Conference in Sydney projecting further acceleration in 2025. In 2024, the industry achieved one of its most significant milestones with the award of the first Feasibility Licences in Victoria – followed by further regulatory progress and the unveiling of stakeholder objectives and pathways for 2025. In 2025, we expect to see further awards of Feasibility Licences across the nation, together with continued regulatory, government and industry support to facilitate developers progressing their projects. As proud sponsors of the Conference, our lawyers played an active role in the discussions, with Jack Brumpton as a panellist giving his insights into the international perspective on offshore wind, and Caroline Rowe as moderator for a panel focused on the investment landscape for offshore wind projects.
