For some people creativity is about artistry. To others, it’s about problem solving. This is the case in the aerospace industry, where creativity and innovation are constantly harnessed to break boundaries and thrust the industry forward.
Take, for example, the #Boeing MQ-25, an unmanned aircraft system designed for the U.S. Navy. This hugely innovative aircraft will provide more robust in-flight refueling capabilities to combat aircraft and extend their range.
Another example of creativity and innovation at work in #aerospace design is the zero-emission #RollsRoyce ‘Spirit of Aviation’ aircraft. This small electric aircraft broke the world record for all-electric flight (555.9km/h over a distance of 3km) and the lessons learned from this will help to accelerate the electrification of flight.
Then there is Vahana by #Airbus, an all-electric, single-seat, tilt-wing vehicle demonstrator that is focused on advancing self-piloted, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight. According to Airbus, it went from a sketch on a napkin to a full-scale flying aircraft in less than two years and it will, ultimately, help to re-shape urban mobility.
So, on #WorldCreativityandInnovationDay2024, we recognize that creative thinking is a fundamentally important ingredient of the #aerospace and #defense industry.
Let's continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, fueled by imagination and a commitment to a better, more sustainable world!
