TTG Media, a leading publication in the travel and tourism industry, has just published an article spotlighting why easyJet and other travel leaders are increasingly focused on Montenegro. In the article, Montenegro is presented as a destination that attracts visitors with its unique charm, blending stunning landscapes, rich history, and culture. The author of this article noted that it is hard to believe that this Balkan country, with its UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor, has not been widely visited by British tourists. “Now, however, Montenegro and its attractions are easily accessible thanks to tour operators like easyJet holidays, which offers package deals and direct flights from London, Manchester, and Bristol from May to October". For this article, the director of The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, PhD Ana Tripkovic Markovic, spoke on the growing interest of British tourists in Montenegro as a destination, evidenced by a steady increase in visitor numbers. She also emphasized the importance of green initiatives to preserve Kotor's unique character and to advance sustainable tourism practices. How important is #sustainability to you when you travel? I love traveling. I have a bucket list of cities & places to visit before I kick the bucket. Not only till recently, when I found my passion in sustainability after being made aware through a presentation by The Climate Reality Project about how the climate change is real, and the climate crisis is already happening, I couldn't care less about climate change and wasn't interested to learn more about how huge an impact it has in our lives and on our planet, if we don't start doing anything about it. Now. Watching A Life on Our Planet, a witness statement by Sir David Attenborough and crying buckets even after watching it twice, further convinced me that I really needed a change of mindset and to start living more sustainably and to make an impact in my own small ways. So, for me, yes, sustainability is important to me when I travel. And it has to start from me, the traveler. To do so, a change of mindset is necessary. How about you? Watch the video below to find out how these 5 countries are leading the world in growing sustainable & resilient tourism. #sustainabletravel #cities #places #tourism #ecotourism #holiday #vacation #ajvibes https://lnkd.in/g2r-G_Za

Deep Travel Equals Quality Tourism While mass tourism strains popular destinations, a new breed of traveller is emerging: the deep traveller. These travellers are typically more mindful of their impact, willing to spend more, and often return as repeat visitors. They are invested in the local community, supporting local businesses and contributing to the destination's economy in a more sustainable way. By cultivating a reputation for offering authentic and transformative experiences, destinations can position themselves deep travel friendly. It's time to shift from quantity to quality. What destination do you think is suited for this type of traveller? #deeptravel #responsibletourism #traveltrends #destinationmarketing #travelindustry #travel #sustainabletourism 📸 Barcelona - in need of a tourism reset

In the context of the future of global educational curriculum and pedagogy, travel and tourism offer valuable frameworks for experiential education, where learning goes beyond textbooks to engage with real-world contexts. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, integrating travel-based learning experiences into curricula can enrich students' understanding of global cultures, histories, and economies, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and global citizenship—skills essential for the 21st century. Travel as part of education promotes immersive, hands-on learning, allowing students to engage directly with the subjects they study. For example, a history lesson transforms when students can visit historical sites, interact with local communities, and hear stories that bring past events to life. This approach not only enhances retention but also cultivates a deep respect for cultural heritage and diverse perspectives. As students experience different environments, they are encouraged to reflect on their place within the global community, gaining insights into issues like sustainability, cultural preservation, and economic disparities. In terms of curriculum development, a future-focused educational model might integrate travel modules, virtual exchanges, and local field trips that reflect global contexts. Educators can build lessons around cultural landmarks, ecosystems, and historical sites, making the curriculum dynamic and relevant. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) can further enrich this by offering immersive experiences when physical travel isn’t feasible, giving students worldwide access to cultural sites, museums, and natural wonders. Moreover, travel-oriented education fosters experiential learning—a pedagogical approach that encourages students to learn by doing, observing, and reflecting. For example, a curriculum that includes eco-tourism projects can educate students about environmental science, conservation, and sustainable business practices. Similarly, participating in community-based tourism teaches valuable lessons in social entrepreneurship, intercultural communication, and community development. Such experiences help students grasp complex, interconnected issues and apply their learning in meaningful ways, preparing them for roles as future leaders and problem-solvers. Incorporating travel into education thus holds great promise for developing adaptable, empathetic, and globally aware individuals. As curricula evolve, prioritizing experiential learning through travel and tourism can reshape education into a tool for bridging cultural divides, encouraging stewardship of the world’s resources, and fostering a shared commitment to preserving the richness of global heritage. This approach not only prepares students for a globalized economy but also empowers them to contribute to a more inclusive and interconnected world.
