This past weekend was my 4th Workiversary with Olympus Property! 💙 You only understand the difference between a good place to work and a GREAT place to work once you experience it, and while there may not be a magical formula, if there was, Olympus nailed it. As our Talent Acquisition Manager and a Recruiter, I have a lot of conversations about how much of a difference it makes when company values are genuinely present, setting the foundation for how the organization operates, the employees feel, and the customers are cared for. Just like a home with a poor foundation, a company without a strong foundation will begin to shift and crack. The structure is sturdy when that foundation is strong, and everything within it remains intact and well-preserved. The foundation of Olympus is held up by the values and company culture that have been fostered and continues to be fostered by each individual's dedication to it. I am endlessly grateful for strong leadership, collaborative team members and peers, the gift of trust, feelings of value and acceptance, and the tremendous generosity of the Principal of Olympus, Chandler Wonderly. Time flies when you’re at Olympus because the Kool-Aid is spiked with PASSION. 🙃 💙 😉 ------- #OlympusProud #propertymanagement #workanniversary #companyvalues #missionandvalues #talentacquisition #recruiterlife #recruiter101 #lovewhereyouwork #workanniversary #workiversary #recruiter #multifamily

Today is officially my 1-year anniversary at MEL research. 🎉 It feels very strange. Not because it’s gone so quickly, but more because it feels like I’ve been here for years. I’ve felt so welcomed and been given the freedom to grow and develop the evaluation team (without the challenging of long sign off processes too - what a luxury!). I’m very proud to own that it’s been such a great year for us. As a team we’ve got 4 new amazing team members (Evan, Richard, Emily, Holly) we’ve made the open commitment to only do empowering evaluative practice, we’ve pushed and challenged ourselves to really speak up about inclusive and trauma informed research. We’re facing our fears – talking at events about our passion for inclusive research and engaging/ creative methods, and we’re challenging ourselves to test new tools and approaches to help with the complex, people focused work that we do – such as interactive longitudinal story telling. It has been BUSY. To be honest I’d say at times it’s felt intense. But it has been so so worth it. I’ve had the pleasure of working in many fab teams but honestly I’ve never been surrounded by such a breadth of diverse talent. And the motivation to do (what Sophi lovely terms) human research is just inspiring. And most of all I’m so proud to work at a company with a genuine, and I’d dare say fearless, commitment to social value and EDI. It is a breath of fresh air. It is no small feat to be fearless in your willingness to learn, be better, recognise (and be honest) about when you need to get better. I wouldn’t be able to push for inclusive research practice so passionately without the support and commitment of this lovely organisation. In summary year one at MEL = amazing year. Onwards and upwards (wondering about the dog pic? It's completely irrelevant. But they're cute no!?)

🌟"You can't be what you can't see". - Otega 💻Last week, Teach First ambassadors Lauren Wilson and Otega Ajuchi joined forces to give Year 9 and 10 pupils from one of our partner schools a taste of careers in tech. Throughout the day, they heard from people across all areas of the industry and gained insight on different roles and career journeys. As well as taking on practical projects, pupils presented their work to four senior business leaders. 💬 One pupil said: “Today’s event has made me feel inspired by seeing different aspects of a career in tech. “I got to see how things work and what they get up to. Honestly, I can see myself working in a similar job after today.” 💬 Otega Ajuchi said: “Events like this create synergy between education and the workplace. There’s a lot of theory but practical elements are important too. “Today they’ve had the chance to practise what real life in a workplace will look like.” 🙌🚀 Pupils need opportunities like this to help broaden their career aspiration. Probaly, this is my best post so far :)💛 What I have learned from opening my OWN clinic, 1) Heal yourself while healing others,🍃❤️ Our willingness to heal ourselves increases our capacity to heal others 2) Listening to patients wisely matters🌻 The stories we are told are truly precious to hold and are often the most important part of patient care. 3) Stay insatiably curious. 🌷 It seems every day at work, I am met with something I’ve never seen before. This inspires me greatly. I love that I can never know everything. This feeds my passion for ongoing learning. 4) OPPORTUNITIES don't just fall into your lap.😊 5) FEEL the feel and do it anyway.💪 6) Challenges are a necessity of growth.🙏 7) You have to find ways to differentiate yourself and your practice.👏 8) Take time off. 9) Learn to set boundaries. 10) If you’re thinking about starting a clinic, now is the time to do it.😍😍
