Why are forests important to us? 🌳🌍 Forests are more than just clusters of trees; they are the lifeline of our planet. Here's why they matter: 🌿 Biodiversity: Forests host diverse ecosystems, supporting countless plant and animal species. 🌬️ Oxygen Production: Trees produce oxygen through photosynthesis, vital for life on Earth. 🌎 Climate Regulation: Forests absorb carbon dioxide, helping mitigate climate change. 💧 Water Cycle: They play a crucial role in regulating rainfall patterns and preserving freshwater sources. 💼 Economic Benefits: Forests provide timber, fruits, nuts, and support industries like tourism. 🌟 Cultural Importance: They hold spiritual, recreational, and aesthetic value for communities worldwide. 🏞️ Habitat for Indigenous Communities: Forests are ancestral lands for indigenous peoples, integral to their livelihoods and cultures. Let's recognize the immense value of forests and work together to protect and conserve them for future generations. Happy International Day of Forests! 🌲🌳 #ForestsMatter #Conservation #Sustainability #ClimateAction 🌿🌍

Today is the International Day for Biological Diversity 🌿 It is great to see that biodiversity and nature positivity have recently risen high on sustainability-minded businesses´ and decision makers´ agendas. Nature can and should be incorporated as part of companies and communities strategies. We rely on natural resources, and we need to take care of them to make sure they will exist in the future as well. The decline of nature and ecosystems is accentuating climate change impacts, and without actions towards nature and nature-based solutions we cannot mitigate the climate crisis. If we restore biodiversity, we can also mitigate the impacts of climate change. What does this mean for businesses? Check this article to learn more on how we’re creating steps towards nature positivity at Neste.

Nature does not need humans................ "Nature does not need humans, but humans need nature." This powerful truth highlights our absolute dependence on the natural world. Nature will continue to exist and adapt without us, but we cannot survive without the clean air, fresh water, stable climate, and biodiversity it provides. Every breath we take, every meal we eat, and every resource we use is a gift from nature. When we harm nature, we harm ourselves. Ecosystems are resilient, but they have limits. If we push them too far, nature will adapt, but humanity may not survive the consequences. Now is the time to protect and cherish our planet, not only for the sake of nature itself but for the survival and well-being of all future generations. Lets care for nature... which will indirectly help humans #areweoingenoughtosaveourplanet

On Earth Day, let's pause to appreciate the delicate balance of nature and the importance of preserving biodiversity. Among the myriad of species that grace our planet, the monarch butterfly holds a special significance. The monarch butterfly, with its vibrant colors and remarkable migratory patterns, symbolizes the beauty and wonder of the natural world. However, these iconic creatures are facing unprecedented challenges, including habitat loss, climate change, and pesticide use. Saving the monarchs is not just about protecting a single species; it's about safeguarding entire ecosystems and the myriad of life they support. As pollinators, monarch butterflies play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting the reproduction of many plant species. By taking action to protect monarch habitats, reduce pesticide use, and mitigate climate change, we can ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures and the ecosystems they inhabit. On Earth Day and every day, let's commit to preserving the monarch butterflies and the rich tapestry of life on our planet. Together, we can make a difference for future generations and create a more sustainable and resilient world. #BeTheChange #SaveTheMonarchs #EarthDay

Trees provide the perfect habitat for mushrooms to flourish, forming a symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties. The fungi help trees absorb nutrients and water from the soil, while trees provide the sugars that fuel the fungi's growth. It's a beautiful example of nature's interconnectedness! Beyond their ecological importance, forests are our frontline defense against climate change, capturing carbon dioxide and providing oxygen for life on Earth. By preserving and restoring our forests, we're not just protecting trees, but safeguarding the planet for future generations. So today, let's take a moment to appreciate the often-overlooked heroes of the forest: #mushrooms! Their quiet but essential work reminds us of the power of collaboration in nature and inspires us to continue our mission of restoring and preserving our precious forests. https://spades.life/ #DayOfTheMushroom #ForestsMatter #ClimateAction

🚨 #BREAKING: This is a code red for nature. Globally, species population numbers have plummeted by 73% on average since 1970. This is getting worse over time, when it should be getting better. Vital ecosystems are on the brink of collapse. We’re dangerously close to tipping points, where the damage to our planet will cause irreversible impacts on all our lives. We must turn things around immediately. Urgent action is needed now – not tomorrow or next year. 👉 Read more about WWF’s Living Planet Report 2024 in our media release: https://lnkd.in/gmF8Ajns 🗣 Share this video to #ActForOurPlanet #LPR2024 #LivingPlanetReport
