In the race to net zero, #eDNA is key! A recent webinar saw us dive into the results of a project undertaken with Natural Power and EDF Renewables UK & Ireland to understand the reliability of eDNA in collecting data for Environmental Impact Assessments. The findings revealed that eDNA surveying can not only deliver more reliable data vs traditional methods, but it can deliver these insights more safely, more regularly and at a lower cost. Watch the webinar again to dig into the detail! https://lnkd.in/eA4eqTDr #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment #EIAs #OffshoreWind #Freewebinar

Green Bonds Use of proceeds These bonds are devoted to financing new and existing projects or activities with positive environmental impacts. We believe impactful green bonds should be issued in line with the Green Bond Principles (GBP) from the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), a set of voluntary guidelines that promote more transparent, unified reporting on bonds’ environmental objectives and estimated impact. In fact, ICMA is relevant for green, social or sustainability-linked bonds, since ICMA provides guidelines for all forms of such bonds. Examples of project categories eligible for green bond issuance include: renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, green buildings, wastewater management and climate change adaption. #qbsmscblogger

Guess what? Boralex Inc. just got the green light for our GHG emission reduction pathway by #SBTi Not only we're producing low-carbon electricity but we also want to reduce even further the carbon footprint of #solarPV #wind electricity And we're not only talking about Scopes 1, 2 (aka. turning our corporate fleet to electric, relying on 100% renewable electricty consumption for our sites), we're also targeting our Scope 3, meaning our supply chain : fighting GHG emissions of our solar panels, wind turbines, concrete, land-use... This is only the beginning of our journey but the path to get there is clear. I look forward to working with our partners and clients to deliver the targets #Sustainability #ClimateChangeWarriors #Renewables
🙌 Our ambitious GHG emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative! ✅ The SBTi confirms that Boralex’s targets for reducing direct and indirect GHG emissions are science-based and aligned with a net-zero carbon ambition by 2050. ⚡ Boralex thus becomes one of the few companies in its sector to have its GHG emissions reduction targets validated, having set short-and long-term targets that cover emissions across its entire value chain (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) 🌎 It also confirms that Boralex’s trajectory to achieve this target respects the Paris Agreement of limiting global temperature increases to less than 1.5C. Congratulations to all the teams involved in obtaining this important validation, which consolidates our leadership role in our industry and reinforces our commitment to produce renewable energy in the best possible way. AHC recently submitted a response to NSW’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s discussion paper on opportunities for a renewable fuel industry in NSW. In our response, we emphasise the need for clear strategic objectives, careful management of the diverse fuel mix, and alignment of incentives with long-term decarbonisation goals. Our focus is on ensuring hydrogen's critical role is supported so that it is ready at scale for when it's needed. We also recommended to the Department the cautious expansion of the Renewable Fuel Scheme (RFS), with distinct targets for each fuel type to maximise effectiveness. Ensuring that incentives align with the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy and addressing existing policy contradictions will help avoid delays in achieving net zero goals. "We are far from paying the equilibrium carbon price, so the global carbon emission is still too high, and climate investments are not happening at the desired scale. This process is currently the greatest threat to our society, therefore reducing the carbon emissions of the economy must become a top priority for both market regulation and business decision making. Emission reduction projects should be supported by all available means." One initiative is the Renewable Energy Directive that encourages EU member states to implement their own e-crediting scheme to reduce mobility related emissions. In our blog post, mitigia CEO & Founder @Levente Tóth proposes a system that incorporates the principles of the Voluntary Carbon Market. Tomorrow, the United Kingdom will be voting to elect the next government. This is a critical moment for our nation, as the party that comes into power will significantly influence the direction of our country in the coming years. The choices we make in this election will shape our policies and priorities on a wide range of issues. One of the most pressing challenges we face today is climate change. 🌱 The elected government must take bold and decisive actions to combat this global crisis. We need a government that is committed to transitioning towards a circular economy and reaching our Net Zero carbon goals. This approach not only promotes sustainability but also drives innovation and long-term economic growth. 💬 Additionally, renewable energy must be at the forefront of our national agenda. By investing in clean energy sources such as anaerobic digestion, we can reduce our carbon footprint, create green jobs, and secure our energy needs for the coming generations. 💡 As we head to the polls, let us consider the importance of these issues and the impact our votes will have on the environment. 🌍 To read our vision for the energy from waste sector, please click here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eQVfgUrN #PrivilegeFinance #generalelection #ClimateChange #BeBraveOnClimateChange #renewableenergy #greenenergy #NetZero
