In this episode, Bhavana Chiranjay, the founder of #SwakshatraTrust discusses the organization's comprehensive approach to supporting survivors of sex trafficking. Swakshatra Trust focuses primarily on rehabilitation through trauma-informed care, using both conventional therapies and unique healing methods like animal-assisted interventions. To aid survivors in navigating the criminal justice system, Swakshatra Trust collaborates with legal professionals, aiming to secure convictions and reduce repeat offenses. Education and skills training are also key, with a focus on empowering survivors with marketable skills and bridging educational gaps to support their long-term reintegration. A major upcoming project, Gaurav Nivas, will be a specialized center for rescues, trauma care, and health services, aiming to further strengthen these efforts. #WhatIsJusticeForASexualAbuseSurvivor: LINK HERE : https://lnkd.in/gp6PifuG The S.U.R.V.I.V.O.R. Approach Supporting survivors of sexual abuse isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Each survivor’s path to healing is unique, and what justice means to them can vary. Some may seek legal action, while others prioritize emotional healing. Here’s a guide to offering meaningful support: Safe Space: Offer a judgment-free, safe environment where they can share without pressure or probing for details. Understand Immediate Needs: Check in on their current safety—if they’re in immediate danger, help connect them to resources. Resource Guidance: Provide information on legal, medical, and therapeutic options but let them decide what feels right for them. Validate: Affirm their experience, remind them it’s not their fault, and acknowledge their emotions without imposing your own. Inform: Empower them with choices that fit their journey—whether that’s pursuing justice or focusing on personal healing. Value Long-Term Healing: Recognize that recovery is a slow process, with no set timeline. Ongoing Support: Stay connected—consistent check-ins show that they’re not alone, even after the initial conversation. Reaffirm Empowerment: Help them reclaim control over their life, reminding them that justice and healing are defined by their terms. Justice looks different for every survivor. Whether through legal accountability, emotional closure, or a combination, our role is to support them in whatever path they choose. #JusticeForSurvivors #HealingAndJustice #SupportAndEmpower

It might come as a surprise, but violence against men by women has become a common problem today. This includes economic, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as psychological abuse that harms a person’s psychological and physical health. Men as well as women are victims of gender-based violence. Yes. It is a fact. Several cases of 498A turn out to be false in today's time. This International Men's Day - can we pledge to respect each other's dignity as individuals and help create a more inclusive society? #InternationalMensDay #InclusiveSociety #ViolenceAgainstMen #Dignity

🌟 International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict 🌟 On this significant day, let’s shed light on the devastating impact of sexual violence in conflict zones, particularly on women and children. 🌍💔 🔹 Disproportionate Impact on Women and Girls: Women and girls bear the brunt of conflict-related sexual violence, accounting for over 95% of UN-verified cases. Men and boys also suffer, albeit to a lesser extent. 🔹 Health Consequences: Sexual violence leaves lasting scars on survivors’ physical, sexual, reproductive, and mental health. Victims face increased risks of sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies, and infertility. The trauma can reverberate across generations, affecting families and communities. 🔹 Social Fabric and Livelihoods: Beyond health, sexual violence shatters the social fabric of communities. It curtails women’s livelihoods and disrupts girls’ education. Armed groups profit from conflict-driven human trafficking for sexual exploitation1. # Urgent Call for Action: Let’s demand urgent action to combat conflict-related sexual violence. Hospitals and healthcare facilities must be safe havens for survivors, providing healing and support. Together, we can raise awareness, advocate for survivors, and work towards a world free from this heinous violence. 💙🌟 #EndSexualViolenceInConflict #HealthForAll #conflict #healthforall #publichealth #globalhealth #womenandreproductivehealth #immunization #endconflcit ,#HIV ,#infectousdisease #violence #sexualviolence
