Outgoing Co-Chair of @RenewableH2EU & Nel CEO, Håkon Volldal spoke today at #RHS2024 in Brussels 🇧🇪: “The future belongs to front runners and European Commission has shown itself to be a frontrunner in promoting renewable hydrogen. We will work tirelessly over the coming years to forge progress in developing a renewable hydrogen value chain, making renewable hydrogen competitive, and making it easy. This is our job and our commitment as industry. We call on all European countries to stay the course and continue to be frontrunners. And we will be running the distance together with them.” Learn more about Nel’s EU policy positions here https://lnkd.in/djyhaXgt

🤝 Here’s a prime example of a mutually beneficial partnership between two countries to boost #greenhydrogen production and application. Germany 🇩🇪 has signed an agreement with Morocco 🇲🇦 to support the country’s renewable H2 production with plans to import the green alternative in the future. The development of a hydrogen economy will support both countries, taking advantage of Morocco’s renewable energy potential and serving Germany’s ambition to #decarbonize its industry. 👉 As Germany’s Development Minister Svenja Schulze stressed, the green hydrogen economy needs to be “different from how the fossil fuel world economy ever was.” That includes fair partnerships to drive the #energytransition. https://lnkd.in/eMTW3D55

A really stimulating panel at the NI Chamber Momentum conference on green growth. Great to hear the ambition - the serious possibility that the island could be a net exporter of sustainable energy. But also encouraging that there was a realistic assessment of the challenges, including that we’re in a race to take full advantage of the available opportunities in offshore wind, hydrogen, and biomethane and risk getting left behind despite the available expertise and advantages.

We have developed a syngas generator® that converts tires into fuel for gas engines or gas turbine power generators. The gasification process initiates at temperatures above 750°C, leading to the gasification of the resulting pyro-coke. For instance, at 930°C, tire gasification yields 0.76 Nm³/kg with a calorific value of 39.6 MJ/Nm³, producing sulfur and tar-free syngas. The high-temperature waste heat from the gas turbine and engine can be utilized to generate electricity, thus enhancing the electrical efficiency of the combined cycle power plant to over 50%. Our innovation in environmental protection also involves the use of microwave technology. A significant benefit of using steam plasma reactors is the exclusive production of hydrogen and oxygen from water steam, a process that emits no NOx and is odorless. technology: www.gumienergia.hu

January 7, 2024: JAPAN - INPEX Corporation (INPEX) announced today it has joined Electric Natural Gas (e-NG) Coalition, an international alliance that aims to promote the global use of e-methane. e-NG Coalition consists of companies that believe e-methane can accelerate the energy transition towards a carbon-neutral society. The alliance aims to promote e-methane, establish a global market through the standardization of greenhouse gas emissions measurement and certification criteria, strengthen cooperation among all stakeholders involved in the e-methane value chain and act as a driving force for the energy transition by promoting innovative technologies and advocating for climate change policies. Looking forward to our discussions on how the green energy transition can succeed without harming regional cohesion in Europe during #SOE2024 session organised by European University Institute with Bertelsmann Stiftung Please join us if you are interested to learn more #NZIA #SETPlan #cleanenergy #cohesionpolicy #competitiveness #greentransition #justtransition
We all know that the #EU must strengthen the #SingleMarket, but how can this be done? The strength & legitimacy of the single market comes from lifting up all regions--leaving none behind. A Bertelsmann Stiftung study, Energising EU Cohesion, shows how many less developed regions can economically benefit from expanding renewable energy in the future. We'll draw on this study for a discussion on how to make this renewable energy transition happen without leaving regions behind at our event on May 23rd at the State of the Union Conference in Florence #SOU2024. Joining the discussion are Anna Sobczak PhD, Catherine Fieschi, & Thomas Schwab Moderated by Paul Adamson Details here: https://lnkd.in/drtTQbt The conference will also be livestreamed.

Repowering the EU with Hydrogen Valleys: Commission presents progress towards a European hydrogen economy. The European Union has made progress towards having at least 50 Hydrogen Valleys - local industrial or transport clusters where renewable hydrogen supply feeds local demand - under construction or operational by 2030, but important work still needs to be done. Today, the Commission published a Staff Working Document outlining the strategic priorities and actions that are currently ongoing or planned. François Bordes https://lnkd.in/gmAe7ad6

€4.8 billion for a net-zero future. The EU has just announced a game-changing investment—funding 85 innovative projects to tackle climate change and drive sustainable innovation. Here’s what stands out: Green Hydrogen: A big chunk of the funding goes to hydrogen technologies to decarbonize industries like steel and chemicals. Next-Level Renewable Energy: Projects like offshore wind, solar power, and energy storage are set to supercharge Europe’s clean energy infrastructure. Decarbonizing Heavy Industry: Carbon capture and sustainable practices aim to reduce emissions in energy-intensive sectors. This isn’t just about hitting climate goals. It’s about positioning Europe as a global leader in green innovation while creating jobs and future-proofing its economy. The goal? Net-zero emissions by 2050. But will this €4.8 billion be enough to accelerate the shift, or is it just the beginning of a much bigger journey?
