On World Health Day 2024, we stand together to reaffirm a fundamental truth: "My Health, My Right." This theme serves as a strong reminder that everyone should have access to high-quality healthcare, irrespective of their background or situation. As CEO of the Arab Hospitals Federation, It is my collective responsibility to raise the Awareness and ensure that everyone has access to essential healthcare services, preventive measures, and information necessary to make informed decisions about its well-being. By promoting awareness, fostering empathy, and taking action, we can build a healthier, more equitable world for all. Let us advocate for health equity, championing policies and initiatives that prioritize universal healthcare coverage and address the underlying determinants of health disparities. Building on this, at Ahdaf Qatar, we’ll also be focusing on sharing our ideas and perspectives around healthcare universal coverage and access to care and more. I hope you’ll be joining us on 29 April in Qatar to hear the discussions of healthcare leaders, and exploring innovative solutions to shape the future of Healthcare. Day 1 of Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (#adghw) was about longevity. Science of food, sleep, movement, mindfulness, genes, epigenetics, and how AI is being used in understanding an individual deeply to customize tailored solutions in the context of their life. It seemed to me that umbrella solutions are a thing of the past. But, is that really true? We're living in a world where about 50% of the population is suffering from a chronic condition such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, etc. It's shocking that children as young as 10 years old are being diagnosed with these so-called chronic conditions that were once predominantly seen in people aged 50 and above. As much as research is forward-looking and thinking about how to optimize our life, we're still fighting for survival in many ways. Majority of the world operates below health baseline, and everyday is a struggle to just stay afloat. Information isn't the problem. Start ups thinking about cutting edge science aren't the issue. Issue is understanding context of people's life and shifting their perspective on what it means to lead a healthy life. The true 'why' behind the importance of health to suit their context. Every single person understands the risk of smoking, yet what percent actually give up on their addiction? More importantly, what are the interventions for quitting smoking? It boils down to changing people's behavior. And more importantly, a person has to 'want' to change. Even if people are willing to change, achieving positive outcomes doesn't necessarily demand expensive genetic testing. The foundational principles of health are going to impact most of the world positively to begin with: - Adequate sleep (>7 hours) - Clean and unprocessed food - Activity and movement through the day 3 tenets alone will drastically improve most people's lives. *** This is a push for people to take ownership of their lives and not a dig at the amazing advances happening in the world of health.

🌟🇸🇸 Last week, alongside the International Health Ministerial Summit, we had the privilege of hosting Hon. Yolanda Awel Deng, Minister of Health of South Sudan, and her delegation for an inspiring tour of SFH Rwanda’s groundbreaking healthcare interventions. ✈︎🏥📊 At the Bwiza #HealthPost, the Minister witnessed firsthand how we are revolutionizing access to quality primary healthcare, transforming lives in underserved communities. Her visit to Zipline Rwanda demonstrated how innovative #partnerships are leveraging drone #technology to ensure timely delivery of vaccines and essential medical supplies to even the most remote areas. At our state-of-the-art #BlueRoom health intelligence center, she was impressed by how real-time data and advanced analytics drive impactful, evidence-based decisions that improve health outcomes at scale. 🤝💻👨🏾⚕️ Her reflections underscored the transformative potential of these solutions for South Sudan. Through our collaboration with the Ministry of Health, we are working to construct, equip, and digitize 10 health posts by 2025. Additionally, a similar health intelligence system is already being established in Juba, empowering South Sudan to harness data for smarter healthcare decisions. 🌍 This visit reaffirmed the importance of #innovation, #technology, and #collaboration in reshaping healthcare systems.
