Christmas brings with it many wonders one of them being the ‘Boxing Day bounce’ 🎁 Rightmove reports that among the many festive activities we enjoy, sits browsing for a new home as we fill ourselves with Christmas pudding Visitors to the site almost doubled between Christmas Day and Boxing Day last year and the number of enquiries sent to estate agents about available properties increased threefold from Christmas Day to Boxing Day 🏡 In addition, Estate Agents reported there were 17% more buyer enquiries on Boxing Day 2023 compared to 2022. Sellers also made the ‘right move’ 😉 with more than 10,000 new properties coming to market when most of us were enjoying some much-needed family time. It’s looking like this year’s Boxing Day bounce could be even better! A number of fixed-rate mortgages are up to 1% cheaper than there were at this point in 2023, while the changes to stamp duty thresholds is putting pressure to complete property sales before the end of March 2025. You have 3 seconds to catch the eye of a buyer online so if you have an empty property now is the time to book to get it staged to make sure your property gets noticed.

Rightmove predicts a busy Boxing Day bounce amid usual seasonal lull Rightmove’s lead indicator of new seller asking prices measures prices at the very beginning of the home buying and selling process, capturing immediate changes in home-mover behaviour. New sellers typically need to come to market with some of the most competitive prices of the year in December, to motivate festivity-distracted buyers to act. While the market is slowing down as it always does in the build-up to Christmas, activity continues to remain strong compared to last year. This is laying the groundwork for a potentially busy Boxing Day bounce in home-mover activity, which has become a tradition in recent years as early-bird buyers and sellers flood onto Rightmove: https://lnkd.in/egCQPXHd #property #festiveseason #homesearch #homebuying #trends #Rightmove #househunting #boxingday

Did you know that Boxing Day, celebrated on December 26th, is rooted in British history? Traditionally, it was a day when employers gave 'Christmas boxes' containing gifts or bonuses to their staff and service workers as appreciation. In modern Australia, Boxing Day has become a significant public holiday marked by various traditions: Sporting Events: Cricket: The feature event is the Boxing Day Test Match, which is played every year at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This event attracts cricket lovers from all over the country who want to watch their Australian team play against its international counterparts. Yachting: The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race also starts on this day, and it has world-wide attention as yachtsmen take up the long journey from Sydney Harbour to Hobart. Shopping Extravaganza: Boxing Day marks the beginning of post-Christmas sales. Retailers slash their prices, making it a major shopping day for shoppers all over the country who go to stores and online shopping platforms to enjoy these discounted prices. It is among the busiest shopping days of the year. It is also known for its film releases. Many cinemas premier big movies during this time, making it an ideal festive season to entertain the family or friends. Even though Boxing Day has its origins steeped in acts of giving and appreciation, contemporary Australian celebrations have been rather diversified, mixing sport, shopping, and leisurely times, reflecting the changing dynamic cultural landscape of the country. #BoxingDay #BoxingDay2024 #HappyBoxingDay #BoxingDayTradition #2in1VaSolutions
