Unemployment is hard. Allowing candidates to go through 5 rounds of interviews and tests is a recipe to frustrate well-meaning candidates. Keep the recruitment process simple yet effective. 1. Qualify based on CV/resume. 2. Shortlist candidates who meet the basic requirements. 3. Give a simple test they can complete within a few hours depending on the role you are hiring for (this is essential if you are hiring developers). 4. Shortlist candidates based on the test results. 5. Interview the top 3-5 candidates to discuss work culture, expectations, and ask behavioural questions to know the best fit for the job. 6. Send contracts to the selected candidates and support them through the onboarding process.
