Dr Nina James and Richard Wortley recently published an article on tapping into your existing talent and plugging gaps by using skills audits. Skills audits don't just help identify skills gaps. They can also build an understanding of what capabilities you have within your existing teams. See below for more. I have been hearing a lot about skill shortages lately - in some cases the solution may be found more closer to home than you imagine! #SkillsGap #SkillsAudit #WorkforceCapability #TrainingandDevelopment

WHAT IS THE LEARNING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD (LPDA)? OIPD (Oxbridge Institute of Professional Development - UK) is organising an LPDA Global Award for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) based on how well they provide Learning & Professional Development opportunities for their employees. We are also seeking to appoint Country Partners to help promote the award. This is a part-time honorary role over the next 6 months WHY THE AWARD? The primary aim is to recognise and subsequently encourage SME employers to have ‘Best Practices’ in L & PD so that the best talent is attracted and retained for a company to enjoy an ‘Employer of Choice’ status. Another award’s goal is to enthuse SMEs to do more in L&PD and contribute to increased productivity and a healthier bottom line. This in turn can contribute to improving the country's GDP. WHEN AND WHERE IS THE LPDA BEING ORGANISED? The LPDA was launched officially on 01 March 2024 starting at the national level which closes on 31 May 2024, moving to the regional level during June with the 3 winners from 5 regions being selected to find the top 3 for the global awards to be held in the UK on 14 September 2024. If this role interests you, then please email us at <secretariat@oipd.org.uk> and check our website at <www.oipd.org.uk>

🌟 Navigating Your Own Path to Competence 🌟 The yearning for competence is a psychological need as identified by Steven Hayes in A Liberated Mind (2019.) We all want to feel like we are good at what we do, and this need can drive us to excellence or have us feeling “stuck” in unhelpful patterns. As someone supervising paraprofessionals, one important lesson I’ve learned is that involving team members in selecting their own growth strategies leads to better outcomes. Collaboration is key! For years I have preached the value of the Performance Diagnostic Checklist as an assessment tool that can help BCBAs identify why performance challenges are happening and select function-based interventions rather than just “train and hope.” I have adapted this tool to be used as a self-assessment, in which staff can answer questions related to their own skills to identify what support strategies would best suit them. The ✨ Support Diagnostic Checklist ✨ speaks to our human longing for competence, while recruiting staff in their own learning journey. This approach fosters valuable conversations about skill development, and empowers staff to ask for exactly what they need from their supervisors. Here is the free resource, from me to you! https://lnkd.in/ePVZs484 #act #bcba #bacb #freeresource #staffsupport #ob #abaw

🌟 Results Measurement for Greater Impact! 🌍📊 🎓 Excited to join the Results Measurement Training in Bangkok, organized in collaboration with DCED and IPDS to share experiences with global practitioners. Applying robust Results Measurement Frameworks, such as the Disrupting Systems Dynamics (DSD) Framework, would help track both intended and unintended results within complex systems. 🔍 The AAER Framework is also another valuable approach to measure systems change in areas such as innovation adoption, norm shifts, and policy changes, laying the foundation for effective adaptive management. 🚀 M&E tools such as Outcome Harvesting (OH), Social Network Analysis (SNA), Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), and System Dynamics (SD) enable us to blend qualitative and quantitative insights, unlocking deeper understanding for program learning and adaptation. 💡 Let’s scout, learn and share measurement practices to drive program learning, adaptation, and systems change. #MC #RLP #ResultsMeasurement #SystemsChange #MEL #ImpactEvaluation #AdaptiveManagement
