The video below showcases one of our projects, where we used advanced CFD simulations to explore the impact of dynamically changing contact angles within a microfluidic device. The purple circle represents the sensor field, while the liquid is colored as red and the air as blue. 🔍 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫: Implementing dynamically changing contact angle behavior is crucial for achieving precise and meaningful simulation results and effective problem solving. The differing simulation videos below illustrate this effect, which was only considered in the "Receding Contact Angle" simulation. By incorporating this factor, we detected problem zones during the emptying process and optimized them through geometric changes and surface treatments. ⭐ 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: These insights are particularly crucial for devices that rely on accurate fluid measurement and interaction, such as those used in blood analysis. Controlling dynamic contact angles by adapting geometries and surface roughness or useing tailored coatings enables reliable and precise sensor performance.
