I regularly ask myself, "What have you done this year to make yourself proud?" I reflect on the strides we’ve made, whether it’s reaching personal goals, overcoming obstacles, or growing through new experiences together. Every challenge faced, lesson learned, and effort made adds up. Perhaps you strengthened relationships, honed new skills, or made a lasting impact in your work or community. My mentors always remind me to celebrate the progress we’ve made so far and let it fuel our motivation for what’s ahead. Amidst 2024, I’ve led our team in expanding the reach of our "Doing business with Council" initiative. Not only have we showcased our work at both State Government and First Nations trade shows, but also adapted by participating in a local Career Expo. This allowed us to engage with job seekers, highlighting the depth of knowledge, skills, and qualifications required in Procurement, Supply, and Contract Management, while demonstrating the diverse opportunities our field offers to aspiring professionals. This was personally rewarding, as well as very successful. How have you made this year count so far? The past two weeks have been enlightening. Some of my colleagues and I participated in RI Career Week -Your Career,Your Way An active online career planning and development lessons. We would have a topic/theme of the day. This would come in form of discussion forum in Google Classroom, an article, a playbook and a videos of the same. The topics ranged from Communication, Feedback, Enterprise Leadership, Customer Care, Career Planning in summary key areas of development a potential leader would want to delve in. The best part about this Career Week was reading other colleagues insights, opinions and their experiences on the topics of the day. And to top it up, it was also a global activity of over 90 countries. We interacted with colleagues who've worked in different levels at different role and different countries/branches. Some of their career progression were beyond inspiring. With the tools and knowledge shared am ready for the next step. To summarize this was a great reminder not neglect my career development and neither should you!

🌟 Reflecting on Career Week 🌟 We want to hear from members and LinkedIn employees about how skills have unlocked career possibilities.   As Career Week unfolds, it has me thinking about the essence of leadership. We often fixate on external skills, the visible actions that propel us forward. But what about the inner journey? The quiet battles we fight within ourselves? I've come to realize that as I've progressed in my career, it's this inner game, this continual practice of self-reflection, self-management, and self-awareness, that has helped me navigate challenges and gain leadership skills by pausing to listen. I've learned that it's about showing up, not just for the wins, but for the tough moments, supporting others when it matters most and practicing emotional intelligence.
