Did you know that in the UK, around 100,000 hospital admissions each year are due to heart attacks? That's 290 admissions each day or one every five minutes. Figures are from the British Heart Foundation (January 2024) As an Emergency Care Assistant, I have supported many individuals who have suffered a heart attack. It is a serious medical emergency in which the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked, usually by a blood clot. For a quick and appropriate response, it is important to be able to identify the symptoms, and know what to do. I developed an infographic to help the community and #adultcare professionals identify the common symptoms, and a step by step guidance on how to respond until help arrives. Feel free to download and use the infographic personally or at work #socialcare #healthcare #care #community In addition to my work on the Ambulance, I also lead mandatory training delivery at 1Stop Training Email me at david@1stoptraining.co.uk to talk through your training needs. 1Stop Course List https://lnkd.in/e2MzPjJ9 1Stop Training Calendar https://lnkd.in/eMHGnxv9 #Heart #FirstAid #Ambulance #Trending #Infographic #Tools #UK #MandatoryTraining #Training #AdultCare #Socialcare #Healthcare

We recognise that many people live with some uncertainty about what the future might hold for them. The uncertainty can lead to questions such as... 💛What are my wishes for future care? 💛What is important to me now and in the future? 💛What matters to me and my family? Having conversations with your family or friends, or writing your wishes down and sharing them that way, can help people support you in ways that matter to you. Our local NHS has produced helpful literature about this: https://ow.ly/q40n50Rx4tq #dyingmatters #dyingmattersawarenessweek #thewaywetalkaboutdyingmatters #hospiceuk

How many more lives must be put at risk before the urgency of stabilising social care is recognised? Rising flu cases are putting extraordinary strain on the NHS - but many hospital stays could be avoided with greater access to quality care at home. When people are discharged without proper support, they risk ending up back in hospital with worsening conditions. Home care plays a vital role in preventing avoidable admissions and enabling safe, timely discharges. But without proper investment, our underfunded social care system cannot be there for everyone who needs it. We need urgent action to properly resource care at home and in the community - or this cycle of crisis will continue. #FluCrisis #HomeCare #SocialCare #BluebirdCare #NHS https://lnkd.in/ef_UZCmR
