Friday Shoutout 📣 If you haven't heard of Everlab, you should! Shoutout goes to Everlab team for the awesome work they’re doing! 🩺 Everlab is developing the future of healthcare by creating the preventative health service of the future. They can detect disease early, improve wellbeing, and optimise performance in a health experience Australia hasn't seen yet. It seems like they truly can be a holistic health partner rather than a disjointed network of health services we are all normally used to 🚑 Kudos to Marc Hermann, Sam Kothari, Anshul J. Jain and Dr Steven Lu and the Everlab team for their push for a better health future for Australians 🧬 *This is not a sponsored post, just a way to help spread the word of awesome work by awesome people who are inspiring. This is a trial series I will be doing on Friday's to spread the love and share the work of great startups. If you're a startup looking for some micro-PR and a shoutout (my posts over the last 3 months average around 3k impressions), tag yourself in the comments below and I'll pick one next week to feature! 👇 #FridayShoutout #Innovation #Startups

I headed to the Plug and Play Health Expo yesterday for a dose of inspiration from other health tech startups and I wasn’t disappointed. The event showcased the first Health Plug and Play accelerator cohort - a diverse group of innovators across the health spectrum. First, from the panel, top 5 tips for startups when approaching corporate innovation partners: 1. Find the decision makers in the corporate partner 2. Really know your value prop 3. Explore multiple angles 4. Be prepared for it to take time 5. Be flexible Next, what VCs look for in health tech startups: 1. Excellent team 2. Huge impact 3. A clear plan to exit 4. Understanding of the impact of their solution on the rest of the value chain 5. Solving one problem well The event saw some awesome pitches from the Plug and Play cohort: Anathem, CardioSignal by Precordior, DDM Health, Impli Limited, INOCARDIA LIMITED, MICA Biosystems, NovaBleep, PingBit Health Limited PragmaClin Research Inc., R.grid, Sensora Health, Skyfarer® LTD, Vivan Therapeutics. Not being a clinician or into deep health tech, some of the innovation may be been a too deep to fully grasp in a 5 minute pitch 👱♀️. However, my favourite businesses / pitches from this lot were MICA, Impli and Research Grid. It was fab to catch up with Amber Hill, from Research Grid, a game changer in clinical trials. This is the second time I’ve seen Amber’s awesome pitch now… I know she and her team will do well. You never know when you’re going to meet people with life changing ideas. Magdalena Karlikowska’s Cytecom is one such business. Cytecom shortens the time to diagnose bacterial infections. As a sepsis survivor, I know how ‘life or death’ this is. While my own startup Eatiful is boldly and proudly D2C and plans not to work through healthcare-with- a-capital-H, yesterday’s event certainly raised some interesting possibilities for us in terms of partnerships. Definitely worth the trip to Birmingham. Thanks West Midlands Health Tech Innovation Accelerator - WMHTIA, Liam Grover, Plug and Play Tech Center, Fabian Scheugenpflug, Kieran Borrett, Miruna Chipara. #healthtech #healthstartups #plugandplay #healthinnovation

We were thrilled to host the panel "Innovating Healthcare: Bridging Clinical Expertise with Entrepreneurial Vision" with Wellstar Health System leaders, exploring the complexities of bringing clinical expertise and entrepreneurial thinking together in the healthcare space. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us from near and far! Our panel at Venture Atlanta delved into the culture of innovation in healthcare, focusing on how to create space for risk-taking in a traditionally risk-averse industry. The discussion also highlighted the importance of clinical expertise in shaping venture investments, ensuring that those closest to patients are informing the solutions startups develop. We explored the intersection of healthcare and technology, health equity, and how leaders like those at Catalyst by Wellstar are advancing care through entrepreneurial collaboration. A huge thank you to Beth Kost-Woodrow Daniel Fortes, MD, MBA, FACS Snehal Doshi for providing your expertise and the gift of your time! And to our own Patric Rayburn for moderating! We’re also excited to spotlight one of our panelists, Nicole Cook, founder of Alvee AI, a startup focused on advancing health equity. This partnership will help Catalyst take an important step toward addressing healthcare gaps in underserved communities. It's an honor to be a part of Venture Atlanta Conference, surrounded by incredible leaders and endless inspiration. Together, we’re shaping the future of innovation and redefining startup culture in this amazing city. #VentureAtlanta #HealthcareInnovation #CatalystByWellstar #InnovatingHealthcare #Entrepreneurship SoundingBoard Engage #va2024

If it's not hard, it's easy. That has been my mantra for most of my adult life. Easy is great when you are buying groceries, taking a call, or catching a car. However, those experiences don't just 'enter stage right' in simplified form for society to enjoy - they need to be built by someone recognizing strategy to make impactful change. So sure - building a startup is hard - we all know nothing good comes easy. And, like many of you, engaging stress is what my brain needs to thrive. The 'challenge' has always inspired me to show up for patients and teams. It is what inspires me to build today. Every day I am lucky enough to wake up knowing #team CLARA is building to make healthcare easier for everyone so that one day you can take a simple experience for granted. Huge thanks to Founders Bay (Mariane Bekker), Startup Grind, and The Agentic for passing the mic and sharing some cool photos! #SF you do not disappoint. #LetsGo! #BuildingBusiness #MissionDriven #HealthCare #HealthTech #JoinUs #NurseApproved #SaferAndSmarter #Innovation #DigitalTransformation www.claraguide.com
