We'll always have Paris. Congratulations to our Australian team who have now become our most successful Olympians, winning an all-time record of 18 gold medals, including 4 gold and two bronze medals in our best ever day. In a golden night we've won 4 gold in the women's pole vault, the men's dinghy sailing, men's skateboarding, and men's team pursuit, track cycling, beating the hot favourite UK team. Australia now stands third on the Olympics table, in the sporting superpower ranks just behind the United States and China and way ahead of the host nation France. With a few days left to go, Australia has already eclipsed medal records set in Sydney, Athens, London and Tokyo Olympics. And unlike the Tokyo Olympic blighted by COVID, our athletes have enjoyed the company and comfort of their families whilst competing in what is still probably the most beautiful backdrops that an Olympics has ever experienced. Outside of a few disappointments, particularly the Matildas, the Australian team has performed beyond expectations, and its members will be immortalised for decades to come. It's also a great morale booster for Australia, still struggling to kick clear of the financial and social setbacks of the COVID pandemic. How this Olympic team became the best ever, and what was the secrets of their success, is likely to be the subject of intense analysis, for individuals, teams and organisations seeking to emulate their achievements in other walks of life. #AustraliaBestEverOlympicTeam #Olympics2024
