Have you watched our webinar on Creating a Climate Resilience District? A #Climateresiliencedistrict (CRD) is a local entity that spans jurisdictional lines and focuses resources on the most urgent aspects of climate change as determined locally. CRDs can raise revenue, plan #climatemitigation or #climateadaptation projects, and implement those projects. They can utilize a variety of local funding sources and accept funding from private, local, state, and federal sources to address local climate change priorities. The on-demand webinar on our website includes practical presentations on financing opportunities and the process for setting up a CRD. https://lnkd.in/g8CAmpA6

I am overjoyed to have finished the course on nature-based solutions (NBS). It was challenging, but the discussions were extremely rewarding. This course has shown me how important NBS is in addressing climate and environmental issues. We must act now, because continuing as we are will harm our environment. If global temperatures rise above 1.5°C, it will have a serious impact on human well-being and exacerbate climate hazards. This rise will also destroy species, resulting in mass extinctions. Many ecosystems are already stressed and may be unable to adapt, particularly those damaged by human activity. To prevent and reverse these losses, we must collaborate with nature and make it work for us. NBS is the best way to accomplish this. Working collaboratively with nature is critical to overcoming the challenges we face. Now is the time to take action for the environment.

𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐊𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐧 analyzes three dimensions to understand the progress and challenges in #ClimateChange: 1️⃣ Climate science 👩🔬 2️⃣ Economic costs 💲 3️⃣ Social and geopolitical risk 🏛 His perspective on the future is not positive, as more #Mitigation efforts are needed. Specifically, I agree with his view on the need to accelerate emission reductions, and from my experience, #NbS are a 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 alternative for this purpose.

🌍 The Water Crisis: How Climate Change is Impacting Water Supply 🌍 Climate change is putting unprecedented pressure on our water supply. Rising temperatures and extreme weather events are intensifying droughts and contaminating freshwater sources, threatening both communities and ecosystems. According to the National Climate Assessment, severe downpours heighten flood risks and increase contaminants in our water, while UN Water highlights effective water management as critical to climate resilience. At DuroMem, we recognize the urgent need for adaptive water solutions. We’re committed to helping industries and municipalities combat this crisis. Let's fix our water problem together💧 Eco-Friendly and Economic-Friendly For more information, check out these resources: National Climate Assessment: https://lnkd.in/gDUqfyNT UN Water: https://lnkd.in/dXTG4yGp #ClimateChange #WaterCrisis #WaterQuality #Sustainability #DuroMem

Lopez Center is committed to aiding local planners and decision-makers with tools that streamline and improve the climate planning process. A standout example is the enhanced Climate Change Expenditure Tagging (eCCET) Helper. This tool is tailored for planners aiming to embed climate change into their planning effectively and based on evidence. The eCCET Helper enhances the process by offering a curated list of CCET typologies, allowing planners to easily identify and prioritize climate-related expenditures. This ensures that resources are used more efficiently and effectively. It began in 2017 as the Center's initiative to translate the key messages of the Philippine Climate Change Assessment Reports. Complementing the eCCET Helper is the Center's Project Upturn, which provides a menu of climate adaptation practices that address localized climate impacts. It aims to identify and assess existing solutions in terms of different parameters based on the country's climate change-associated risks and its potential contribution to overall resilience. Tune in on Wed 20 Nov from 9am-5pm to hear about climate resilience in Victoria. Go to vicparl.news/3TaqvnI to view the schedule of people and organisations presenting and to watch the hearing. The inquiry by the Legislative Council Environment and Planning Committee is seeking to understand and address the main risks posed to Victoria's built environment and infrastructure by climate change. The inquiry is exploring the implications of these risks to Victorians and evaluate the preparedness of the Victorian Government to mitigate and adapt to these challenges. It is also looking into the adequacy of the current Victorian planning system as it relates to climate change impacts and whether further inquiries or investigation may be needed into other aspects of climate change adaptation and climate disaster preparedness in Victoria. #climateresilience #climatechange #infrastructure #environment #planning #victoria #parliament

Hello everyone! Hope your week’s off to a great start. Just wanted to pop in and share something exciting: John Smith, Conor McKenzie (insanely talented pals) and I have been working on a free, easy-to-use resource for everyone to explore called Climate Credits!🌲 So far, we’ve compiled several state-level climate and energy programs, and we’re gearing up to include city-level offerings soon. You can check out everything we’ve gathered so far at https://lnkd.in/gxkCSx_W Our goal is to have most states covered, plus dozens of cities, by the end of October. From there, we’ll keep updating with new programs at both the state and city levels. To keep everyone in the loop, my colleagues are also putting together a newsletter. It’ll keep you updated on new local, national, and regional programs we discover. With so much happening in this space, we want to create a reliable source of information regarding policy in a fast-moving industry. You can sign up for the newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/gUYjBUf2. Ever wonder which programs you may qualify for as an individual or business? We hope our tool will help you get the info you need to get grooving on the programs set aside for you! Woot woot - climate actionnn!!🤘 🌎 😎 #ClimateAction #EnergyPrograms #Sustainability
