The Power of Women in Leadership 🌟 Last week, PMI hosted an inspiring webinar as part of the #WomenInspirationNetwork, featuring award-winning filmmaker Donna Zaccaro Over 300 attendees joined for a reflective conversation on leadership. In conversation with Marie-Pauline Lauret Donna shared powerful insights on how influential women have shaped her views, the importance of women supporting each other, and what it means to be a positive leader. Here are some key takeaways: 1️⃣ The more voices and perspectives you hear, the stronger your arguments and outcomes will be. 2️⃣ Ask your team what they need and how your role can support them in reaching their goals. 3️⃣ Be helpful. Mentor, support, and uplift others in their careers. 4️⃣ Be mindful of biases—people are still judged by appearance, voice, or behavior. Ambition and assertiveness are often misunderstood. 5️⃣ Stay aware of how others are responding to you and adjust accordingly. As we work toward building more balanced organizations, Donna also emphasized the crucial role male colleagues play in supporting women. Promoting diverse voices in meetings and vensuring women are included in discussions are key steps. 🧠 Building self-confidence? It happens one step at a time. Embrace positive feedback, seek evaluation and growth, and consistently put yourself out there! Let others know about your achievements. This session was truly inspiring and left us with actionable reflections to incorporate into our daily leadership practices. Does this resonate with you? 🤔 👉 Let’s continue the conversation! Share your thoughts or experiences on positive leadership and how we can all foster more inclusive workplaces. 💬 Thank you Marian Salzman #Leadership #PositiveLeadership #WomenInLeadership #Mentorship #InclusiveLeadership #CareerGrowth #DiversityAndInclusion #SelfConfidence #PMI #LeadershipDevelopment #GrowthMindset #LeadershipTips

The Evolving Landscape of Women’s Leadership: What’s Next? The conversation around women’s leadership has never been more exciting or relevant. One of the most powerful shifts I’ve seen recently is the rise of adaptive leadership—the ability to navigate uncertainty, embrace change, and inspire others through complexity. Over the last five years, the game has truly changed for women in leadership. We’ve seen greater recognition of the value women bring to the table, especially in areas like empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence. These strengths have become not just desirable but essential in guiding organizations through challenging times. Think about how women-led businesses and countries handled the pandemic—they set new benchmarks for what leadership looks like. But let’s be real—there are still challenges. For years, women faced structural and cultural barriers that hindered growth, from unequal access to mentorship to outdated biases about what leadership “should” look like. Even today, balancing professional ambitions with societal expectations remains a struggle for many. The good news? Those barriers are starting to crack. With more women embracing their authentic leadership styles and workplaces becoming more inclusive, the future feels promising. But there’s more work to do. How do we equip women with the skills to keep pushing boundaries—whether it’s mastering negotiation, cultivating a strong personal brand, or confidently leading through change? I’d love to hear your thoughts: What do you see as the most critical leadership skill or skills for women in the years ahead? And what shifts have you noticed in recent years? Let’s keep the conversation going and inspire one another! #WomensLeadership #AdaptiveLeadership #EmotionalIntelligence #BreakingBarriers

In many workplaces, women leaders face unique challenges. Whether it’s being interrupted in meetings, having their ideas overlooked or stolen, or navigating a male-dominated environment, these experiences can chip away at confidence. But commanding a room isn’t just about being heard; it’s about owning your space and voice. Here are some strategies to help you build confidence and assert your leadership: 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: Knowledge is power. The more prepared you are, the more confident you’ll feel. Rehearse key points and anticipate questions to bolster your presence. 𝐎𝐰𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Celebrate your achievements! Recognizing your strengths and successes is vital. Keep a list of your accomplishments handy to remind yourself of your value, and don’t be afraid to remind others of your impact. 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Stand tall, maintain eye contact, and use gestures that convey confidence. Your body language influences how others perceive you—and how you show up. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐔𝐩: Don’t shy away from sharing your ideas. Speak clearly and assertively. If interrupted, find a way to re-enter the conversation and reiterate your points. 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Build a network of fellow women leaders who uplift and empower each other. Surrounding yourself with supportive peers can bolster your confidence and provide valuable insights. Confidence is a skill that develops over time and can be recharged when it dims. As women leaders, we have the power to reshape the narrative and command the room. Here’s how women in leadership can redefine power. So often, leadership is framed around traits such as competitiveness, aggression, even ruthlessness. But need these characteristics define true power for executive women? I believe power can look different — it can be softer, more collaborative, more inclusive, and still be profoundly impactful. Imagine leading with compassion, empathy, and resilience — traits often undervalued in the traditional leadership models we've been exposed to, and in some instances misinterpreted as weakness. For many women executives, our power lies not in dominating a room or a discussion or a colleague but in inspiring, listening, and connecting. In combining our own value with others' for far better outcomes for all. I’ve seen firsthand how executive women leading authentically, without sacrificing their feminine strengths, create teams that are more engaged, loyal, innovative and effective. You don’t need to emulate outdated models to succeed. You don't need to buy into the old paradigm that power OVER others is the only type of power worth having. Let’s start showing the world that strong, effective leadership has many faces. How do you redefine strength in your leadership? I'd love to see hear your examples of this. 🌟 Embracing Confidence in Leadership: A Message for Women Leaders 🌟 As women in leadership, our journey is often paved with unique challenges and opportunities. One of the most powerful tools we can wield in this journey is confidence. Confidence isn't just about knowing you can do the job; it's about believing in your value and the unique perspectives you bring to the table. Here are a few thoughts on cultivating and harnessing confidence in the workplace: 1) Know Your Strengths: Reflect on your achievements and the skills that have brought you success. Celebrate these strengths and let them be your anchor in moments of doubt. 2) Embrace Authenticity: True confidence comes from being authentic. Bring your whole self to work—your ideas, your passions, and your values. Authenticity builds trust and respect. 3) Continuous Learning: The most confident leaders are lifelong learners. Seek out new knowledge, ask questions, and never stop growing. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and develop. 4) Build a Support Network: Surround yourself with mentors, allies, and peers who uplift and support you. A strong network can provide guidance, encouragement, and a sounding board for new ideas. 5) Celebrate Small Wins: Confidence is built over time. Acknowledge and celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Each step forward is a step towards greater self-assurance. 6) Lead with Empathy: Confidence doesn't mean being the loudest voice in the room. Lead with empathy and compassion. Listening to others and valuing their input is a sign of true leadership strength. Remember, confidence is not about being perfect. It's about being resilient, adaptable, and courageous in the face of challenges. As women leaders, our confidence inspires and empowers those around us, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
