I was a volunteer mentor in the St Louis startup ecosystem. Yes I had startup experience beforehand and I wasn’t looking for a VC career. I’d recommend some sort of involvement in a startup ecosystem before deciding whether VC is for you, especially for a recent graduate. It surprised me how hard it is to find worthy companies to fund. I saw turnover at VC and VC family offices because of difficultly in finding worthy investments
