As a working mom of four amazing kids, creating the harmony of “work” and “life” is an ongoing work in process. I’m thankful for Kohler Co.’s Believing in Better Paid Volunteer Program which allows for Kohler Associates to volunteer one day a year to make a meaningful, purposeful to me, and difference in the community where we all live and work. I was recently able to use this benefit and take an opportunity to help at my daughter’s 2nd Grade Class Field trip the Sheboygan County Historical Center. Thankful for the opportunity to support the teachers / school where my kids go and spend a special day with my daughter. Teachers & School Staff consistently impress me - they truly have the most critical and important job of all - developing the future leaders of tomorrow. Their balance of patience, support, and passion for teaching is simply amazing. #Thankful #BelievingInBetter #Volunteer

Mulberry Senior High school was remodeled and someone sent me this beautiful reminder. It made me think about how we plant seeds early as we are becoming into ourselves. I held a board seat each school year and stayed in community involvement. I’m grateful for the relationships and life lessons along the journey. For all of our current high school students please read below: 🌱Planting Good Seeds in High School: A Lasting Impression🌱 As you navigate through your high school years, it's essential to remember that the seeds you plant today can yield a lifetime of impact. Whether it’s fostering friendships, embracing diversity, or supporting one another in academics and extracurricular activities, each positive action contributes to a rich and rewarding experience. Here are a few ways you can all plant those good seeds: 1. **Support Your Peers:** A simple act of kindness can uplift someone’s day. Let’s make it a habit to encourage our classmates and celebrate their successes. 2. **Get Involved:** Join clubs, sports, or volunteer opportunities. These experiences not only build skills but also create bonds that last well beyond graduation. 3. **Embrace Diversity:** High school is a melting pot of cultures and ideas. Let’s take the time to learn from one another and appreciate our unique perspectives. 4. **Lead by Example:** Show integrity and responsibility in your actions. Being a role model can inspire others to follow suit, creating a positive ripple effect. 5. **Stay Curious:** Ask questions, seek knowledge, and challenge yourself. A curious mind is one that continues to grow long after high school. The seeds we plant today will bloom into the values we carry into adulthood. Let’s nurture our school community with positivity and purpose, ensuring that the impression we leave behind is a lasting one. 🌼💪🏾 #HighSchool #PlantGoodSeeds #PositiveImpact #Community #Leadership #GrowthMindset

🌟 Celebrating Love Teaching Week, Kim Normand Dobrin and Nancy A. Green led a vital development session for 60 educators at Baggett Elementary, focusing on emotional and professional resilience. In these challenging times, when educator stress is sky-high and retention rates are alarmingly low, it's critical to offer our educators a supportive oasis. This session was all about providing a nurturing space for educators to explore and enhance their emotional and professional resilience. The feedback was heartwarming: "I feel more centered for the year ahead." "I am better able to see where I need to find balance in my life." "I feel more supported." It's a testament to the power of personal development in creating a stronger, more balanced educational community. Let's keep supporting our educators, giving them the tools and the space to grow—not just as professionals but as individuals. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who shape our future. If you're interested in learning more about how we can support educators and students directly within your school, find out more about our In-School Program 👉 https://bit.ly/3I2cpiq Let's work together to create a nurturing and supportive educational space for both teachers and students. #LoveTeachingWeek #EducatorSupport #ProfessionalDevelopment #SEL

🌟 Embracing Positive Leadership for a Brighter Future 🌟 In a world craving fresh perspectives and enthusiastic dedication, I believe it's time for a new generation of leadership to step forward. With a passion for positivity and a readiness to tackle challenges head-on, my mayoral campaign is built on these principals. Campaigning isn't just about vying for a seat—it's a beautiful, labor-intensive journey filled with highs and lows, enriching experiences, and opportunities for growth. I approach this endeavor with an intellectual curiosity to learn, coupled with the humility to acknowledge that no one has all the answers. However, I am determined to equip myself with the knowledge needed to serve our community effectively. My vision for leadership is rooted in positivity and inclusivity. I am committed to keeping my campaign focused on what I plan to achieve, rather than criticizing others. It's imperative that we set an example for our children and community by demonstrating unwavering enthusiasm and support for our city. My children deserve to see that true leadership is about empowering others and creating a thriving environment for all. Bringing others alongside you is what it’s all about. As a mayor, I see myself as the cheerleader for our community, building strong relationships and partnerships that will foster a bright future filled with endless opportunities. Together, let's embrace positivity, drive, and a shared commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant community. Join me in this journey towards a brighter future for the city of Lone Tree! Happy Wednesday! 😀It's SCHOOL PRINCIPALS'🏫 DAY! School Principals' Day on May 1st is your reminder to take time to today and say "thank you" to the educational leaders who look after your children every day. After all, they guide academic success and set the tone for the entire school! #SCHOOLPRINCIPALSDAY Principals are some of the hardest working, yet can be the most underappreciated people in the education system. Without them, a school would not operate on a daily basis. They set the academic tone by encouraging students to thrive. They implement their vision through dedication and determination to provide a successful and positive environment for students and teachers. Throughout the academic year, school principals'👩🦰 assume the commitment to lead students to a prosperous future. They support and guide quality teachers👨🏫 and staff, resulting in productive learning environments for our children. Whether they lead an elementary, middle, or high school, a principal shows leadership skills while being approachable. In fact, many students see their principals as role models because of this factor! Teachers rely on principals to ensure the schools provide the necessary equipment and resources. They also rely on principals to counsel and discipline students when needed. In addition to the school itself, a principal ralso represents the school🏫 at community events, including sporting 🏈⚾️⚽️🥎🎾🏐events. They also meet with superintendents and community leaders to promote better education, new text books and equipment that may need to be replaced or updated. 7 WAYS TO CELEBRATE #SchoolPrincipalsDay: 🤩 Organize an event to thank your principal. ☕ Bring breakfast, coffee, or just a thank card,! 👩💻 Give a shout out to them on the schools' Facebook page! 📲 Break out the yearbook and share a photo! 👨🦰 Volunteer at your school. 🥁 Support your school's extracurricular activities such as band, choir, speech, and athletics. 📲Use #SchoolPrincipalsDay to share on social media. #signsbytomorrowhuntsville #signs #signage #banners #featherflags #walldecals #outdoorsigns #safetysigns #acrylicsigns #businessowners #vehiclewraps #huntsvillealabama #madisonalabama

Yesterday marked a significant milestone as we celebrate the graduation of 23 remarkable men from our program at Trousdale. This event goes beyond individual achievements; it represents our collective commitment to fostering a society that sees value and potential in every person. By supporting these men, we champion the idea that everyone deserves a chance to rewrite their story and contribute meaningfully to our community. Our program is designed to educate and empower, with a curriculum developed by those who understand the journey best—returned citizens themselves. This approach ensures that we address our participants' real challenges and barriers, paving the way for true transformation. If you believe in the power of redemption and the importance of second chances, I encourage you to get involved. Whether by volunteering, offering employment opportunities to returning citizens, or engaging with our RESET training to create more inclusive workplaces, your support can catalyze significant change. Together, we can help shape a community—and ultimately a society—where everyone is afforded the dignity and opportunity to thrive. Join us in this crucial mission. Be sure to follow The DREAM Initiative for updates and more information. #Leadership #Impact #SecondChances #DREAMInitiative

Calling all outdoor industry professionals!! Sign up before September 4 for the Racial Justice Weavings, Fall 2024 Season. The Weavings are a weekly online gathering for outdoor industry folks to learn about and grapple with white supremacy, racism, and racial justice in outdoor education and recreation in the US. Anyone working in the outdoor industry is welcome, no matter their role or level of experience. We don't assume any previous knowledge about racism in outdoor spaces, just a willingness to have the conversation. Yes, there's a requested cost because we all live in this rabidly exploitative late capitalist hellscape, and we're trying to make this work sustainable BUT: 1. BIPOC folks ride for free and 2. We will not let cost be a barrier to anyone participating. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eV4kceCJ Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/e5c7Pc-s We'll leave you with a few words from the Weavings crew: "Hey, dominant culture peeps! If you’re baffled but open to getting help in understanding why your DEI game still isn't really on, GW&D is the deeper dive you're looking for." Paul Duba, MPA, PCC, NCC "Thanks to this cohort led by Ella and Steph, I am growing in ways that profoundly impact my career, how I show up for my community and personal relationships, and my role as a parent." AJ Wojtalik "Steph and Ella are intentional and expert facilitators with expertise in coaching and consulting. In their antiracism practice, they hold space for curiosity and growth while firmly interrupting bias and harm. Their coaching is guided by compassion for everyone involved." Briana Golden Copeland "Steph and Ella are fantastic facilitators. They built an environment where I was very comfortable being uncomfortable. They developed a learning community of outdoor educators with various levels of experience and roles from seasonal field staff all the way up to executive leadership. I learned a lot about racial justice. I also picked up some communication tools that I use with my leadership team on a regular basis." Ben Fickett

As we enter Teacher Appreciation Week, I am thinking of all the people who were role models of good teachers for me, beginning early on with the love and joy I found in preschool from teachers whose name I can’t remember. I am also saddened by the number of people who would discourage their children from becoming a teacher. It is a hard job. It takes an incredible work ethic. There are sometimes places with lack of support from admin, overloaded classrooms, and not enough supplies. There is always “something more to do” (and someone that will tell you how you should have done it). But ya’ll, there are also incredible administrators who do balance supporting the kids with supporting their teachers (because shouldn’t that really be the same thing?), who are advocating for smaller classroom sizes and more respect for teachers’ professional expertise. There are breaks throughout the year to recharge and help count as some “comp” time for all those late nights and long weekends. There are generous parent organizations who step in to try to supplement classroom needs. And, lastly, nothing will ever be as rewarding as a kid telling you that you changed their life and had an impact in some way. Yesterday, my husband was picking up lunch and a young lady shared with him that she didn’t think she would have graduated without my support. I’m not saying that to brag, but because it made my day. It recharged me and reminded me of why I do what I do. It’s to change lives. If we don’t advocate for our best and brightest to go into this profession, campaign for better resources and support at the state level, and bring back a deep respect for this who teach from parents and other professionals, we are going to lose the foundation of this country — a free, quality public education for all. #kidsdeserveit #mytwocents #thankateachertoday
