Further evidence that #photoncounting CT changes clinical pathways in coronary artery disease. 49% of patients in the study were classified to a lower CAD-RADS score (and likely a more conservative treatment option) when scanned with NAEOTOM Alpha compared to conventional CT. The latest #MUSCcvi paper by Milan Vecsey-Nagy highlights another area in which #photoncounting CT may change patient pathways. Using ultrahigh-resolution coronary CTA, higher CT-FFR values are measured than with energy-integrating detector CT. The results of this intra-individual comparison study may indicate the same trend that we have seen with CAD-RADS-based stenosis reclassification, i.e. the higher CT-FFR values measured with #photoncounting CT can contribute to the reclassification of hemodynamic significance too. New review on the European Heart Journal 💻 The HeartSim research team at PrediSurge, in partnership with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Hôpital Saint Joseph of Marseille, has contributed a significant study to the European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging, demonstrating the precision of our PlanOp® Structural Heart software in simulating Mitral Valve interventions. This work, which reflects an impact factor of 6.3, marks an important advancement in the field of cardiovascular care. Our research focused on a case study involving a 73-year-old patient, successfully treated with a Mitraclip XTL® for severe mitral regurgitation. 👏 Exciting news – results of the PVISION study have been published in EP Europace!    PVISION, a prospective multicenter study, assessed PVI Analyzer, our automated AI-based algorithm. Is virtual contrast enhanced imaging the future of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR)? 💗🧲 In our latest study, a generative adversarial network (GAN) was trained to create virtual contrast-enhanced T1 maps for contrast-free, virtual extracellular volume fraction (ECV) assessment. 📡💞🩼 🖼️ 🤗 The study used 2518 registered native and contrast-enhanced T1 maps from 1000 patients. 👥🏥 Virtual ECV had a substantial agreement with conventional ECV. Virtual ECV also allowed the disease-specific diagnosis of myocarditis and amyloidosis with a comparable diagnostic performance as conventional ECV! 🥳🎉 Virtual contrast-enhanced CMR might ultimately facilitate faster and more accessible CMR and increase patient safety, especially for those with impaired renal function.🔮🧲💗 The future of imaging is already there!
